About Me

My Garage

  1. Hi, my name is Paul.....I have a 2006 750 Brute Force, my problem is that it pops through the exhaust at a idle, I've adjusted the valves to specs, although it took three tries to get it right. Not sure where to go next, other then it popping through the exhaust at idle it runs as good as it ever has, off idle there is no popping, Any help with this would be much appreciated
  2. ok so I got this 06 Brute force 750 in the shop came in no start put a new battery in turn key on and 30A fuse pops replace it try again another 30A fuse gone check wiring harness found 4 prong plug brown and black/yellow wires rubbed through and shorting out fixed that issue replace fuse and try again..... 30A fuse pops again play around for a while and found the CDI has shorted out on the 4 prong plug in cdi side . there was a dynatek cdi box in gave customer choice stock cdi for 300 ish or dynatek for 150 ish brought in new dynatek plug in and starts nice iddles for 5 to 10 seconds and dies ... crank it for a bit nothing ... turn key off then turn on and start .. starts up idles for same amount of time then stalls check out and no spark why would it start and stall after 5 seconds and have no spark I'm confused please help
  3. have an 05 750, and she bangs out when you give it gas. Idles fine. Also the belt light is flashing, even after a new belt was put on. Any ideas?
  4. I just bought a 2012 brute force 300 that is an automatic. Im not use to an automatic but it seems to be revving very high at slow to medium speed. It does seem to go fast ~60mph so its not like the belt is slipping. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks
  5. 2005 / 06 Honda 680 Rincons are pretty much bullet proof but the 2005 Kawasaki Brute Force 750 has more features like locking front differential, hi & lo range, more power, better brakes but they have issues like water easily getting into the air box, leaking oil seals, electrical issues ect... I know later year BF 750"s are more reliable but I cant afford a newer model. Any owners willing to tell me their experiences with these models will very much help me to decide which to get. Please don't tell me to buy something else as I prefer independent rear suspension and don't like Polaris models.
  6. Ok my 2009 Kawasaki brute force 750 4x4i is back firing & cutting out when excellerated and the engine is getting hot enough that it burns my leg through jeans and it feels like the exhaust is melting the fender and I can sometimes smell burning plastic. I checked the fan and it is fine, also pulled the fuel pump out and tested and cleaned it and it stopped back firing and cutting out but still runs hot but not showing the temp sensor indicator light on the dfi at all... I checked the plugs and cleaned gapped ect they are fine... radiator is clean and not stopped up, oil level good, injectors working property and clean..... I just don't know what else to do to it.... HELP!
  7. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PSnnjsYPv4]Brute force 750 belt - YouTube[/ame] So I just got this thing a few days ago from a buddy. Its snorkled and when i ride it smoke comes out of the belt housing pipe and i dont know why. I can imagine it coming out if i was in 4wd and in low in some thick mud but just a lilttle light mudding in 2wd and its doing it. I dont have a video of it smoking but i took off the belt housing and it was full of grease and some leaked out at the bottom when i opened it and not sure how thats possible. but i made this video to show what its doing and what it sounds like and could use some expertise and advice
  8. 2013 Brute Force, I believe the rear tire size is 22x10x10 !! I am looking to replace my rear tires on my my 4x2 B.F. 300 !! Seems like an odd tire size for the rear tires on my bike. My question is can I go 1" bigger, someway in tire size to where it would not affect bike performance ?? Seems like the 22x10x10 tire size is really odd !!! Thanks for any input !!!!
  9. I bought one of these a few weeks a go and have been having lots of fun riding in the woods and trails around where I live. I was hesitant on getting a 2wd vs 4wd but so far so good for my type of riding. Anyway anyone have one of these machines and have done any performance mods to it? I'm not really wanting to make it louder just a little more grunt in the lower rpm range.
  10. I found a 2006 Kawasaki Brute Force 750 thats fore sale. I can get it for $3000. It has 355 hours and a little over 1800 miles. It has a newer body. It is the blue color and marked efi on it. The guy tried to pass it off as being fuel injected and that the choke simply idled it up. I told him that efi did not come out until 2008 and that color was not available until 2007. I kind of feel that if he is not being honest about that, then what esle is he hiding. It starts good and I rode it around a small parking lot and seemed to ride all right. Couldnt really get it up to a good speed due to room. Is it worth going for? Anything on these to look out for or any years better than others? Thanks..

  12. Just got a new brute force a few weeks and man this thing is nice. Every bit of info i read on it is exactly true, my last for wheeler i had was an 20 some year old honda Honda. Now i have the " bug " again mid-life crisis sh** i guess. This machine is very peppy on low-mid range torque, is very easy to operate, even in emergency cases. Rides like a dream, this machine also loves to climb, trust me......lol. Now i wish i would have purchased a 4x4, but stuck to my guns and told myself " If i need fourwheel drive to get out of a situation, then i dont need to be there. Thats why i have winch on the front . All i can say is ,Good power, torque, manueverability, and it has some good speed on the road....i saw 52 on the speedo, but i'm 44 yrs old thats out of my blood now. .Still some wildness left in me........................ MY MAIN QUESTIONS ARE DOES K/N OR SOMEONE PUT OUT AN AIRFILTER, AND WOULD LIKE A HI-PERFORMANCE SPARKPLUG................. OR ANY IDEAS WOULD HELP...............LOL GOT THAT CRAVING FOR A LITTLE MORE POWER. THANKS ALL !!!!!!
  13. what is the difference in a 2007 650and 2007 750 crank and can the be interchanged
  14. does anyone know where to get the bushing for the left side of crankcase my crank burnt up and i just realized after scraping up the rest of the parts i needed that kawasaki doesnt list the bushing
  15. I have a 2009 Kawasaki brute force 650i that I bought from a salvage dealer. When it was bought it had 98 miles on it. Everything that was broke was fixed including a new crank and piston rings (the motor was apart). However one problem remains it will shift in all gears but will not engage in all gears. The shift linkage can be adjusted so that it shift to all gears but low does not engage or it can be adjusted so that it shifts to all gears but reverse is not engaged. I just can't get both low and reverse to engage with any adjustment. Also the only indicator light that ever comes on is the neutral. I have been told that the shaft might be bent or the bracket on the end. They both look good to me. Any suggestions.
  16. Ok guys Ive got a few more for ya. TIRES: Ive thought about getting new rubber for the wheeler it has some half worn down 25" Kenda executioners on it and Id like to get something that maybe rides a little better and does as good or better in the mud if thats an option. Any tire model suggestions? Also I would like to go to a 27" or mayb e even a 28" are there any disadvantages to doing this would I have to change anything on the wheeler to make up for the larger tires? Ive had a couple people tell me that they would be hard on the clutch. WHEELS: Ive seen some really nice looking aluminums but not sure they are tough enough to handle trail riding...Are they??? If so what would you reccommend, id like a little off set to give it a slightly wider stance and better stability but a buddy has a set of ITP wheels and the rear is offset a lot compared to the frnt and it looks great but hes constantly getting the back wheels hung up on trails SNORKEL: I see that the airbox on the brute is where a normal wheelers gas cap would be, so that being said am I good to go with water as long as it doesnt go over that point os is it not sealed up to the box? Also how about the belt and it staying dry, do I need to do anything to ensure that it doesnt get soaked and leave me stranded. Oh by the way I love this thing the more I ride it the more Im glad I went with the powerhouse, Ive run with a couple polaris 500s 700s a grizzly 660, and 700 and a couple rincon 680s that were built and they cant touch my stock 750, although she likes her gas thats for sure i got about 50miles and Im needing a refill
  17. Has anyone put a silencer can or muffler on there brute force? Ive got an 05 750 that I would like to make run as quiet as possible, just wasnt sure who made one or if they hurt performance or not.
  18. Ok so I bought the 05 brute force and after putting about 60miles on it I have some concerns. The engine seems to run REALLY HOT, like almost burnning my legs through my jeans hot but no warning light comes on and it doesnt seem to "act" hot is this normal, does it have any saftey feature to prevent over heating or heat damage? It also seems to have a slight miss, or hesitation? When you slightly crack the throttle open and hold it at a steady RPM to give it a slightly higher idle it will run smooth for a couple seconds then miss and sometimes backfires. It also seems to sometimes have a hesitation if you jump on the throttle, what could cause this? Also a couple times when shifting from reverse to high it sounded like it got hung up in between and there was a slight squeal as if maybe the belt was slipping and there was also a slight burning plastic of rubber smell. The belt IS new and it doesnt feel as if it is slipping when accelerating and the belt light hasnt come on. Anyone have any suggestions? It does seem to run really well and HARD accept for the slight hesitation or cough and the occasional backfire, I ran it up to 69MPH with both me and a buddy of mine on it, combined weight of almost 500lbs
  19. Im thinking of buying a 2005 brute force 750 from a co-worker but I dont know if I trust him 100% when he says theres nothing wrong with it he seems like he might be a little shady. Are there any common problems with this machine or anything I should look for, its only got about 1500miles. Is this a good model and year??? Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated as far as pros and cons. Also what would a fair price be for this machine in good condition
  20. Please help, someone - anyone. I'm trying to correct some problems with a friends Brute Force and I'm down to the last one, that I know of. The 4X4 fuse hast to be pulled when the ATV is parked or the battery will go dead. If the fuse is not pulled the ATV's battery will go dead overnight. However, when the 4x4 fuse is pulled the ATV can sit for days and the battery will NOT go dead. Can anyone explain and point me in the right direction to fix the problem. I'm think the 4x4 relay is bad or there has to be some sort of short circuit. The 4x4 and switch work fine, it just runs the battery down when parked and I'm getting tired of having to pull the fuse every day. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

  24. 2005 750 Kawasaki Brute Force...oil started sptting out near my airbox. I've never had problems with my Brute Force until today. It is running fine. After the oil began to spit out, I let it cool and checked the oil level which was fine. Looks like it's coming out of a hose that goes from my crankcase to the airbox.....any suggestions ???
  25. My 2005 650 Brute Force Is Running Hot The Fan Is On 75 Percent Of The Time Is That Normal? My Hot Light Was Flashing The Other Day When It Is Flashing Does That Mean "shut Down Now" Or Does It Come On Solid When Its Time To Shut Down The Motor? Thanks For Your Help John
