  1. My 500 4x4 only works if shift lever is pushed forward, I understand that there is a switch in the shifter box that goes bad and am wondering if this could be the problem and is there any way to check it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  2. Hi all, I don't recall the year but I have two Kazuma Coyotes 90cc for my kids. One is fine the other one slips in forward gear to the point it won't run. Before I tear into this anyone have an idea of gear box adjustment or what type this is? Direct drive, band type? Any advice is appreciated since the kids are not very patient taking turns with one running go kart. Thanks for the time.
  3. Recently did a boot swap on the old 700 Grizz and found a boogered up thread on the top knuckle ball joint. Can I just order the part and replace this piece myself or does this have to be done by a prof. mechanic? What tool do I use to get it out? Some kind of press maybe? .
  4. My 1999 Sportsman 500 since new has had very few issues during the 16+ years I have owned it so it has been a fantastic machine! The problem showed up a number of months ago during hunting season and in essence once you start to ride it and then stop, it wants to continue to creep forward and makes it difficult to shift gears and there is a bit of grind when you do. Runs fantastic and seem to be no other problems with power to the wheels in 2WD/4WD so the only time you notice it is when you stop and especially if you need to change gears. I am looking for a starting point on where the problem could be. Appreciate any help! Craig
  5. if this is the wrong place, im sorry in advance. my kid bought a scrambler and the chain broke. a new one was replaced and now it wont go forward. it gets tense and then stops. it will go in reverse..the chain gets loose and goes backward. needless to say on a beautiful snowy day he cant ride. can someone please help?
  6. I recently got a Kazuma 250 I think. I installed new battery and key assembley its only turning on when its connected to the charger.when it is on it shakes back and forward . It rolls backwards . I try to give it gas but it shuts off . Do I need a new alternator so it will cut on with out being connected to the charger Also I got some B-12 Carb cleaner and it seemed like it helped a little ****Pictures are on my page I couldn't load them from my phone ALSO IT BEEN SITTING FOR I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG SO SHOULD I LET IT RUN AND LET THE CARB CLEANER GO THRU THE SYSTEM
  7. Hi all , I have a 1997 Polaris Scrambler 400 4X4. It will not go into forward and if you keep at it and it does go into forward gear it will pop back out if you are going down a hill and your rpm's drop. It goes into Reverse very easy with no grinding. It grinds like crazy trying to get it into forward. You can hear it click into gear then all you hear is a light grinding in the transmission that get louder with the rpm's raising without going into gear. the 4X4 works fine. Sometimes when you get it into gear it will stay in gear for awhile before popping out and sometimes it will stay in gear just a few minutes and then it takes anywhere from 5-30 minutes to get it to take forward again. Before i tear the transmission down , does anyone have any ideas what i'm going to run into ? Thanks for the help
  8. I have a scrambler 400 and it will not go forward. Reverse works fine but when i shift it into forward it just sits there, it just happened the other day, up until then it ran fine. Any ideas where to start trouble shooting or what is wrong?
  9. Hi I have a 2002 arctic cat 500 auto.starts and runs but will not go forward or reverse.the outer clutches/pulleys and belt spins but it will not move when put in gear.Any ideas as to what to to check for?clutckes,broken gear???? thanks for any ideas..
  10. Anyone, I have a 1995 Polaris 400L Xplorer that dies everytime I put it in any forward gear. That is unless I push the overide button. Then it acts like Reverse does when your not pushing the overide button. When you put it in reverse it runs like it should but still only runs like the overide button is not pushed. When you push it there is no change.... So in short. When going forward I have to push the overide button to get the atv to move When going in reverse i'm unable to utilize the overide button to exceed normal operation. When in nuatral I have to push the overide button to achieve smooth idle or it dies. When in any forward gear I have to do the same for smooth idle. When in Reverse the atv will idle smooth without the button pushed. I hope I haven't confused anyone but this is really starting to get under my skin! Thanks, Tom

I'm looking forward to seeing if anyone can knock the Yamaha duo off the top....Bill Ballance will be going for his 10th GNCC XC1 Championship while Traci Cecco will be going for her 8th GNCC Women's Championship... They've definitely got some hot talent coming up to bump them off the podium... I'm looking forward to seeing if Dustin Wimmer can continue to hold of the "Old Timers"....Natalie, Byrd, Gust..etc but most of all....I'm looking forward to MY RACE SEASON...both WNYOA and GNCC....I'll be racing Women's classes in both series...my husband, Nick, will be racing the AA Quad Pro class in WNYOA and the XC2 Pro Am class for GNCC:cute: (ps. considering possible sponsorships for 2009 still bahhahaha:laugh::biggrin:I even have a resume!)
