  1. Hello my name is Ben and I have a honda 200s atc. I have just put a replacement brand new OEM carb on. The bike runs great when in the throttle but when I am idling it sounds like it is skipping going in the back out. I was wondering could I have not adjusted the air screw correctly or is it a different problem. I have adjusted the screw where I put it all the way in then 2 turns out. Do I need to do 2.5 to 3 turns or did I buy another junk carb?
  2. Hi guys, I dont post here much but I figured I would pass on some info in the hopes it will help someone. I was having a problem with my KQ while plowing snow the other day. It would stall frequently while idling. Especially when stopping to switch to reverse or a forward gear. But it would run fine at anything above idle. My buddy came over to help me with it. We determined that it was starving for fuel or dirt was stuck in the carb somewhere. After confirming that there were no clogged screens, filters or vacuum leaks anywhere, we disassembled the carb and blew out all the passages with carb cleaner and compressed air even though everything looked spotless. Then we checked the pilot screw setting. Someone had already been in there as the plug was removed. We checked the setting and it was 2-1/2 turns out from the seat. We set it at an even 3 turns and put it all back together. It now runs flawlessly with no stalling! I believe it was just a bit lean on the low end. Anyway, hope this helps someone.:cheers2c: BTW, this is my first season with this (or any) quad and I am AMAZED at its plowing ability for such a small machine!
  3. My neighbor who had hip surgery 6 years ago parked his King Quad in a shed and it has not been fired up since that time. He replaced the battery, but could not get the unit to run. He asked me for assistance, so we towed the unit over to my shop. I got the unit running, but could not keep it idling without turning up the the RPMs...and when I tried to drive the unit it seems like it ran out of gas after a couple of hundred yards. I tore the carburetor out...dropped the float bowl and discovered a bug (about the size of a housefly) in the bottom. I removed the bug...cleaned what jets and other components I could, put the unit back together...with the same results. I once again removed the carburetor...have removed the plug for access to the pilot needle adjustment and I am preparing to dunk the whole unit into a can of carburetor cleaner. I cannot get the diaphragm screws loose and was wondering if that would hurt the rubber diaphragm if I just left it on the carb...and what should the pilot needle adjustment be set to. Any help would be appreciated. Chet P.S. What should the fuel switch under the gas tank be set to. On-Pri-Reserv
