I have a 1996 King Quad 300 LT-F4WDX ATV I tried to install a carburetor rebuild kit but there were no instructions and I am unable to find them. Anybody know what the "Pilot Screw" is set at? The engine starts but seems to be flooding- very difficult to get the rpms up and engine acts flooded. I set the screw to 3 turns from closed. It is called the "Pilot Screw" on exploded views of the carb. It is a Mikuni BST 31 single carb. Thanks for any help! Bill Roberts

Hi. I recently had to replace the diaphragm on my QM 500, so I decided to add a sigma 6 jet kit. I basically replaces the main jet with a 135 (was 130) and moved the clip on the needle down one space (as per their directions) towards the RICH direction. Now that I have it reinstalled it starts great, idles great but if you try and give it any throttle it sputters, pops and looses all power. With the choke on it will accept throttle. This implies to me that I am running LEAN, which seems strange as I moved the needle towards rich and put a bigger jet in? I have checked the rubber connections on either side of the carb, the carb has been out and it is CLEAN. So any thoughts other then just "clean the carb". Thanks Chris

Hi Folks, This is my first post... I have a 2004 Outlander Max XT that stalls out above 900 feet (yes, 900, not 9,000'). It progressively gets worst the higher you go. I have consistently returned to the same location / elevation and it always "acts up" above 900' and gets worst up to 1,900'. I have cleaned the carb and replaced most all seals & jets with a rebuild kit. When it happens, I am completely on my own. It will not start again without a 1/2 hour+ wait unless... I can sometimes manage to temporarily get it running in short (15 second - 2 minute) bursts by: 1. Draining the carb 2. Waiting a few minutes 2. Spraying starter fluid into the carb 3. Starting it, then slamming it into gear 4. Going like heck (wide-open throttle) 5. If it starts, it will then give me a short burst until it succumbs/stalls again 6. Repeat until I drop below 800-900', then it runs fine I was thinking of putting in after-market jets, but I would rarely go above 2,000' around here and possibly up to maybe 5,500' in other parts of the state (Alaska). So I am here at this forum looking for a few suggestions. FYI - I live at sea-level or there-abouts and there are no dealers anywhere close. Thanks for your time.

i put a higher compression piston in my 400ex and now when i drive it roughly every 30 seconds or so it dies down like it is out of gas then it picks back up again after about 5 seconds of that, i was wondering if the piston would require a bigger jet or could it be because i dident get it back in time just right? ps. it has a pipe on it but im not sure if its full or slip on

I have a 2004 Suzuki Eiger 400 4x4 manual that i would like to install a jet Kit on. I was told that Its a good idea to jet them when you snorkel them. Im kinda new to the atv game and do a lot of hardcore mudding. so please any suggestions on what brand and what size jet to start out with would be greatly appreciated!
