  1. i have an 06 400ex, just put on an hmf slip on exhaust, uni air filter with the airbox lid on, new spark plug, 42 pilot jet, and i started with a 160 main and when i checked the plug it looked a little dark so i switched to a 155 main. both jets ran perfectly fine. should i adjust the a/f screw and see what happens?
  2. I have a suzuki lt250 ouadrunner. The muffler is shot and the mecanic says that I can just jet the carb.b Can this be done and will it work or do i have to buy a new muffler. thanks
  3. I was going to jet my raptor 660 I was planning on running without a aibox lid. What do you recommend on the jet sizes. Another website said 155l 160r 25 pilot jets. I also have a stock exhaust. Will I notice any power difference if i jet my quad and run without a airbox lid.
  4. I have a stock 2001 TRX 350 rancher 2 wheel drive. Been going rockcrawling on it and have had backfiring on downhills. Pulled carb and went from stock 130 main jet to a 142, replaced slow jet from 42 to a 45, reset the jet needle from stock 3rd slot to 4th slot and have the A/F screw at 3 turns out. Have Uni filter in stock air box. Bike is now hitting rev limiter in all gears, and will pull front wheels off ground. Can go from full throttle to no throttle and not noticing any popping now. My question for anyone, has anyone done similar changes? Any suggestions for other improvements? Don't really want to change exhaust, don't really need any more power and don't want anymore noise, but, would consider a quieter pipe. Also, I see that the thermosensor on this bike is set around 308 degrees, I have noticed that I can ride the heck out of the bike and I don't hear the fan come on. I have tested the fan and just replaced the thermo switch because I thought it wasn't working. Anyone had any issues with this?   5. I have a 450r and recently bought two hotdogz full exhausts for my 450r even though I have a pro circuit one(its really dirty anyway). I swapped them yesterday and it sounds a little lean (popping while giving steady low throttle) which seems normal because this pipe looks less restrictive. I don't think i'll have time to jet it before this Sunday so MY QUESTION IS: is it okay to run it for a few hours if the jetting isn't perfect?
  6. hey i have a stock banshee, getting ready to put fattys on it and v force 3 reeds, do i cut the factory intakes or do i need new intakes, i also have what it takes to convert it into one large carb, please an advice on keeping sall carbs or converting to 35mm, also jetting it, im new to a banshee so please all the help you can give me will be appreciated
  7. Hey does anybody know anything bout proper size jetting for a 2008 Yamaha YFZ450? My lil cousin bought it 2 years ago and with the new purchase price has dumped a total of $16000 on this thing! He races it locally so had to remove a bunch of stuff to make it race ready! He didn't do anything to the internal motor to add power, just put on a velocity air filter with no lid on box, scary fast plate for stock carb, and full FMF pipe. All the money invested is in suspension, tires, carbon fiber rims, etc! Somebody messed with his carb and he can't figure it out to get it running again! Our elevation is 550ft up to 1500ft. What pilot jet, main jet, and needle position sounds good to run! Dynojet kit on hand! Thanks guys!
  8. i have a 2005 raptor 350se with a K&N air filter and Baffle removed from stock exhaust and i have a aftermarket cdi i was wondering what i should jet it to right now its stock and when i fisrt start it up and give her some gas she pops so i need some recommendations on jetting
  9. I have a 2005 400ex that is blowing more oil than normal. When i start it while its cold, it blows smoke that im pretty sure is oil! Also, every time i go riding (4-6 hours) It blows a little less than half a tank of oil. My dad says its the piston rings but hes no expert! Also anyone know how i should jet it for a k&n filter? (only because the previous owner had put bigger jets on it, i dont know why)
  10. i have an 07 bb 400 im wanting to instal a snorkle on and im looking for some input on where to start on the jetting part. it has no motor mods still running a stock style filter also, i live in ms about 350 to 400ft above sea level if that helps any. Also ive had the bike since it was new it has over 3400 miles on it and ive noticed it cruising at one speed for a while the header starts glowing super red. I know that means its lean but how would i go about getting all this in order?? it runs fine but even stock it before the lift and tires it was slower than my buddys 08 by just a little.. any input would help thanks in advanced
  11. i am going to get a DG pipe on my 1997 yamaha warrior but i dont now what jetting kit i should get i know i need to go about 6 sizes bigger but dont now what brand to get please help
  12. whats up guys just wanted to get some opinions on jetting. My bike has a fmf powercore 4 slip-on, k&n air filter with prefilter, and I have been running the bike with the lid off. Ever since i added the k&n filter and ran the bike with the lid off it sounds like the bike has been running a bit lean. I put the lid back on and it seems a little better. The previous owner had told me there was a jet kit installed but the guy was definitely a tool so Im not taking his word for it. I havent had a chance to take the carb out and check the jet sizes but I'd like some opinions on what jets I should run with the add-ons. I also plan on adding a revbox and a few other goodies. Any opinon's or suggestions would be great. Thanks
  13. i have a 86 lt230 quadsport with a D.G pipe on it, i got it used a couple of months ago. the bike will backfire out the pipe when you let off the throttle, like a flame!!!! it show by the plow it be running rich, any help on what jet and what size jet to go up to?????its a stock carb. thanxs
  14. Hello I am installing a ProDesign intake with K&N on stock air box with lid off. Stock pipe and carb. I believe I need to re-jet. The Warrior will be running on the beach and trails up to 3500 feet. What size main jet should I start with? IRC stock jet is a 145. Thanks much
  15. I just put together a 87 TRX 250R with a completely new 320 stroker and my first run to the dunes has me scatching my head a bit. The jetting seems dialed in and over all it ran very good but the rpm range to get to the power band seems high, which made it hard to pull the hills in second gear. It would bog down unless I kept on the clutch and that usually meant that I had to go faster than I wanted to. Is it possible to change this with the jetting or do I have the wrong pipe or.... do I gear down? I'm running a Pro-Circuit Platnium pipe. Any advise out there?
