I have a 2006 Suzuki ltz400. i bought it off some kid upstate and it ran when i tested it at his house. i brought it back to Long Island then it wouldnt start. it doesnt electric start to be more specific. Itll start if i pop the clutch in first gear but it doesnt idle, it dies. only does this when the motor is cold, when the motor is warmed up, itll idle. so i took it apart the i found that it had a blown headgasket. i replaced that and now it still doesnt start. i checked the timimg and its TDC on the bottom and top. now it cranks very strong and the compression is strong but it still wont turn over. its popped a couple times but it doesnt run. i cant seem to figure it out, i need help please.

Hey! This is my first post here, and I was curious if anyone would like listen to a strange whine that has developed over the last few rides. We have pulled the clutch case off and checked the water pump, but everything looks normal. Here is a YouTube video I just took from my phone, so I hope this gives you an idea of what is going on. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQBaU72IC30&feature=youtube_gdata]YouTube - Broken LTZ400[/ame] Thanks in advance for any ideas of what is going on! Sorry about not introducing myself before my first post, I'm actually online from my HTC incredible, so its a bit hard to navigate. We are currently camping at horsfall in Oregon, just a bit north of Coos Bay, so having a broken bike on a dunes trip is no fun. Thanks again, Dan Sorry for posting to the wrong section, if someone could move this to the right section, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

hey all. I have a 05 LTZ-400 and used to ride it very often. Now things have come up (college and other things as well) and i have not ridden it for about a year... now some issues came up. one big issue is Well.. everytime I try cranking it up I see fuel pouring from the intake and into the intake bucket. Now... I do not know much about Quads but my main hobby is cars. I currently have a 3000gt VR-4. So i have a fair amount of knowledge about mechanics. Anyone know what has happened? only modifications it has is an exhaust and K&N air filter.

I have an 03 Suzuki LTZ400. I made the mistake of letting it sit a couple of months with some apparent bad gas. I tore the carburetor apart and the needle & seat were completely seized up. I replaced them and cleaned the jets. I put everything back together and it still ran really bad. I went ahead and took into the motorcycle shop. They tore the carb apart and gave it a thorough cleaning. When I went to pick it up the mechanic said that he got it running good, but the pet cock was bad. He said that he recommended putting a new one on it (~$110), but he would have to order it and that he had "rigged" it to where it would run fine in the meantime. He capped of the vaccum line at the carb and flugged the line coming from the pet cock and put the cock on Prime. He was right in the fact that it runs fine that way. I decided to try to find a cheaper alternative than paying the $100+ for the valve. I found a used one that came of a bike that was supposed to be working good when the motor seized up. I changed out the fuel cocks and hook back up the vacuum line. When I started it, it started missing and back firing. I plugged off the vacuum line again, put it on Prime, and it ran fine again. What are the odds that I have 2 bad pet cocks? Can the pet cock be taken apart and cleaned? Could this still be a carb issue with the vacuum? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
