  1. My daughter is a Navy Lieutenant (Captain in the other services). She served an 8 month carrier tour in the Persain Gulf last year. She was the Intelligence Officer for an F/A-18 Super Hornet squadron. She is currently stationed in San Deigo in another unit. She was recently put on notice she might be picked for a year long assignment in Iraq. Of course I understand you go where the military tells you to go, but as a Dad I did not want her over there. The Good News is - she is not going. Yeah! I am indeed a happy Dad.
  2. Hey everyone! Wanted to give some brief updates on some different bits of news we have going on! First off, the Fishers ATV World episode that will feature last years Haunted Forest Ride at Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park will be on the Outdoor Channel on Monday, February 27th at 4:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 12:30 AM. We are really looking forward to seeing how it turned out, so make sure to tune in! The show will re-air on May 21st at the same times. Make sure to check it out! If you were there, you may just see yourself on national television! Also, the Holler Crawlers have been conducting free guided rides all winter. We have had some great ones so far, and its been really warm on most of them. Jon, Larry, and Gary have all taken groups out so far and it looks like that will continue into the spring. We have another guided ride date set for Saturday, March 3. It will be an off park ride. More details are forthcoming. To stay up to date on our guided rides, you will need to check our forum out at www.hollercrawlers.com • Index page and register real quick if you haven’t already. Your registration will be approved within a day or two. But check under the Rides and Events forum for latest info. Or you can check out our facebook page at Holler Crawlers Off-Road Club of Bell County, KY | Facebook as well for latest guided ride info. More info on meeting time and place for this ride coming soon. Also, we have some news concerning the events for 2012. First, we have decided to do a spring event. It will be called the Ride For Cody and will take place on May 5th at the Hwy 119 Trailhead of Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park at 10 AM. This is a benefit ride for LCpl Cody Evans, a local Marine from Speedwell, TN who was severely injured in combat. We would appreciate anyone and everyone coming out and helping with whatever financial donations you can. There will be a bunch of guided rides that day, some leaving at 10 AM and some at 12 noon. We hope to have some music later on that evening for everyone to enjoy. This will be a great day on the trails enjoying the spring weather, but most importantly it will help raise money for a great young man who has given so much to this country and keeping our freedoms alive. Please join us at the event, and if you have facebook you can RSVP by searching "Ride For Cody" or go to Holler Crawlers Off-Road Club of Bell County, KY | Facebook and click on the EVENTS link on the left. If you are unable to come but would like to donate, donations can be sent to this address: Regina and/or Cody Evans c/o Tammy Greene PO Box 3475 Morristown, TN 37815 Also, the last bit of news we have is concerning the 2012 Haunted Forest Ride, which will take place the weekend of Oct 19, 20, and 21. If you came last year, you know we had a great turnout and everyone seemed to have a great time. This year, we promise to again take it up another notch! First off, we are going to attempt to break the world record for most ATVs in a parade! We will need EVERYONES help in this, so bring every fourwheeler you own and please encourage all your friends to do the same! Utah holds the current world record at 1,870 and we will need everyones help to bring this record back to Appalachia where it belongs!!! We need a huge turn out so please come and like I said, invite all your friends with ATVs as well!!! Also, we are very happy to announce that our buddy and worlds most famous Holler Crawler, Brian Fisher, will be back at this years Haunted Forest Ride! We are thrilled to have him back around a place where he has so many fans and we know he is really appreciative of the love he gets when he’s here. So come out and meet the world’s most down-to-earth ATV celebrity at this years Haunted Forest Ride, the weekend of October 20th! We plan on having this year as a weekend long event, with the Haunted Forest Ride being the main attraction that Saturday evening. There will be a TON of new suprises to get your blood rushing this year, so look out! And as always, it will be completely free of charge to enter the event, and there is no charge to ride Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park. Can’t beat that! 3. A lot of you know I had to buy a nonrunning quad to get a replacement frame for my prairie 650. I paid 300.00 today I sold all the left over parts for 200.00 The stuff was worth more than that I'm sure but at the same time I don't have too part it out and wait for buyers and shipping no ads no calls to deal with & I get all the stuff out of my way and get that part of my garage back.
  4. First... the good news: Arizona Federal judge sides with BLM on management of Arizona Strip lands http://cronkitenewsonline.com/federal-judge-sides-with-blm-on-management-of-az-str -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, the bad news: Montana Setback in Lewis and Clark National Forest Lawsuit In April of 2010 BRC, the Motorcycle Industry Council, the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America and Montana user groups were celebrating a landmark legal victory in a lawsuit challenging the Lewis and Clark National Forest (LCNF) 2007 Travel Management Plan. A federal court in Montana agreed with our claims that the LCNF violated federal law. The central theme of the decision was that the Plan was more restrictive than any of the alternatives vetted during the public review process. The Court found that the Forest's final decision "reduced total motorized routes by nearly thirty percent from the most restrictive Draft EIS alternative. It also closed several routes which were not identified for closure in any DEIS alternative." The Court also struck down the agency's treatment of off-route travel for dispersed camping. The Draft Environmental Impact Study (DEIS) portrayed as an element common to every alternative a 300-foot-wide allowance, which was already in place in the Forest since 2001. In the Final EIS, and thus without the opportunity for further public input, this was altered to a "vehicle-plus-trailer-length" allowance in every alternative. Sadly, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has reversed that ruling finding the U.S. Forest Service did not violate the law when it strayed beyond the range of alternatives proposed in a draft environmental impact statement, as long as the plan differed in only minor ways from one of the alternatives and was “somewhere within” the range of alternatives proposed. I don't want to say too much about this because BRC and the other recreational groups are evaluating our options. Needless to say... stay tuned! 7. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WPSA POWERSPORTS ATV TOUR ANNOUNCES RACING CLASS STRUCTURE; SUPERSPORT SIDE BY SIDE HIGHLIGHTS ADDITIONAL CLASSES FOR 2007 WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (Dec. 28, 2006) — The WPSA PowerSports ATV Tour will sanction 27 Pro, Pro Am, Youth and Amateur classes during the 2007 ATV racing season. Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, the Tour has added the Pro SuperSport “UTV” class to its Pro lineup, which also includes the popular SuperQuad Pro 450 MX and the Pro Stock QuadTerrain Challenge classes. “When we ran the side-by-side vehicles at our last race of 2006, the excitement from our fans, our teams and our stakeholders was unmistakable, making it an obvious addition to our already thrilling Pro ATV racing show,” said PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. CEO Rick Murphy. “This, along with some important changes in our Pro-Am, Amateur and Youth classes, should make 2007 one of our most exciting seasons on record.” In addition to the changes in the Pro classes, the Tour will provide alternative lines for riders wishing to run in the Amateur QuadTerrain Challenge classes, which includes Stock Lites (601-700cc), Stock Unlimited (601+cc), and Modified. “We are dedicated to our ladder system in the PowerSports ATV Tour,” said Scott O’Malley, president of PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. “It’s important we allow Amateur riders, who have limited budgets and experience, a place to compete with an eye on stepping up to our top QuadTerrain Challenge Class. Alternative, amateur, lines will give these riders a place to compete without the concern of damaging equipment or racing at a level beyond their experience.” YOUTH CLASSES The Tour has made several notable changes to its youth classes. Production Lites 13-15 will remain the same as in years past, while the 0-50cc Junior and Senior Classes have been modified. The 0-50cc Limited Class (4-6) will be open to quads with automatic clutch, and CVT belt drives, while the 0-55cc Production Class (6-8) will be open to quads with auto clutches. The balance of the youth classes are: 51-70cc (production, auto clutch 6-11); 70cc (shifter, 6-11); 71-90cc, 2 Stroke, 75-125cc, 4 Stroke Production (8-11); 71-90cc, 2 Stroke, 75-125cc, 4 Stroke Production (12-15); 90cc Production (CVT belt drive, 8-15); 75-125cc 4 Stroke Production (8-15); 90cc 2 Stroke, 125cc 4 Stroke Modified (8-12); and 105cc 2 Stroke, 150cc 4 Stroke SuperMini (12-15). The Tour has also split the women’s class into two classes: A and B/C. The 2007 Rulebook, which is in the final stages of completion, will be distributed soon via www.PowerSportsTour.com. About the PowerSports ATV Tour The PowerSports ATV Championship Tour is North America’s premier professional ATV racing circuit, featuring QuadMX, QuadTerrain and SuperSport Pro series action as well as more than 20 amateur classes for adults, women and children.
