  2. Arctic Cat owners BEWARE!! I am speaking from my own experience and please read for personal information only. One rider bringing light to other riders. In May of this year I purchased a new 2015 Arctic Cat Mud Pro 1000 LTD from a reputable dealer in Oakwood, Ontario. I am writing this today to inform everyone of my experiences with both the dealer and Arctic Cat once I had substantial problems with the bike. I am sure that I am not the only one who has had similar dealings with this brand. I feel that it is fair that everyone should know exactly what they are getting into before making a substantial purchase and what you can expect from Arctic Cat Customer Care. With the amount of competition that is in the power sports industry you deserve to have your hard earned dollars put towards a product and a company that you can rely on. Here is the situation that I am currently in... On every trail ride this year (I have been on 5) I have been towed out on all 5 occasions when the bike shut down on me. I continued to bring it into the dealer where I purchased the machine after every ride. Not only is this an inconvenience of not being able to finish a ride, my expenses of taking the bike in/picking up and being without a bike for most of the summer because it is constantly in the shop. I got the run around the first few times saying it was the mods that I put on the bike which were dealer installed, so they took them off. I continued to have problems and after the 3rd time being pulled out of the bush I called Arctic Cat Customer Care to inform them that the bike has less than 60km on it and it continues to shut down on me. I was informed that it is a "dealer issue" and I'd have to deal with them. After the 5th time of taking the bike into the shop because the engine was flooded once again I was told by the dealer that they are not going to fix my bike due to the fact that water went down the snorkels, which was never the case on any ride. I decided to take the bike to another dealership to see if they could diagnose the issue. They called my original dealer in Oakwood, Ontario to find out what the scoop was. After hearing their reasoning they took apart the snorkels, inspected the air filter and air box all to which were clean with no remnants of water being in there at any point. When they took the air box off it was pointed out to me that the throttle bodies were full of mud, water etc. I was asked by the new mechanic if the bike shuts down once I got into the slightest amount of water which it did on all 5 occasions. It was also pointed out to me that the snorkel was never hooked up from the factory which was the cause of my continued problems. Now I have an engine that has taken in a vast amount of water again and the compression of each of my cylinders is below 40 psi according to the new mechanic. Arctic Cat said that they would not warranty this issue even though it was pointed out that the issue has finally been found. I guess that the "excuses" from my original dealer and not being able to fix the bike any of the 5 times that it was in there is their way of providing customer service? Instead, assuming what the problem was and documenting it without even looking at the bike is a much better business practice. After multiple calls and another email to Arctic Cat Customer Care I was informed that they weren't going to cover my bike under warranty even though it was their issue right from the start. I was treated rudely on the phone once Customer Care finally got back to me, accused that it was my fault for the problems with the bike and also have gone once again without them taking responsibility for their products. I was also told that Arctic Cat bikes are not meant to go any deeper than the top of the wheels. SAY WHAT??? Aren't the competition Mud Pro bikes snorkeled for a reason? Do Arctic Cat's promotional videos for the Mud Pro line not have them racing in deep water? I tried to escalate this issue with Arctic Cat asking to be contacted by a manager for which I never was. So I am on the hook for replacing my motor when it has just over 100km on it. This is taken right from the Arctic Cat Customer Care webpage. Sounds like they should practice what they preach. "We believe in enjoying the outdoors. That’s why we want to make sure your experience with our products and with our dealers is the best it can be. To us, your dealer should be more than just a place to purchase an Arctic Cat machine. It should be a place you look to for reliable, dependable service for years of riding enjoyment." I hope that my experiences will help someone make an informed choice when purchasing a new or used Arctic Cat product. Having owned 3 Arctic Cat atv's (2 currently) and 2 Arctic Cat sleds, I can honestly say that I will never own another Arctic Cat product due to the way I have been treated throughout this entire process. When investing over $20,000 for the price of their top of the line bike, including mods, it is a shame that Arctic Cat will not look after their customers even when the issues were not the fault of the consumer. Please do your homework before making a large purchase so that you hopefully do not encounter the same problems that I have had. All I wanted was to have a bike that will perform the way it was intended so I can enjoy the trails with my wife and friends. Customer services goes a long way which now results in a competitor having my continued business for years to come. Ride safe!

  5. Who We Are High Lifter Products, Inc. has been developing and marketing unique, after-market accessories for utility, 4-wheel drive ATVs, UTVs, and RUVs since 1996. In this short time, the company has grown from a one-man, backyard hobby into a 35 employee, multi-million dollar corporation. Business operations are carried out at our 28,000 square foot location in Shreveport, Louisiana. This building includes a retail showroom, a performance shop, executive offices, and is surrounded by 3 large warehouses. We also operate through our main website, www.highlifter.com, which is visited by millions of unique visitors per month, and includes a full product catalog, a chat room and forum, games, an online ATV magazine, and many, many more informative and entertaining features. How it Began – The Lift Kit Scott’s father, current High Lifter General Manager Mike Smith, was the mastermind behind High Lifter’s first product – the lift kit. Mike had seen homemade lifts for ATVs, and wanted one. Because Scott was more “construction minded” (he was already co-owner of a local construction company), Mike asked him to make one for his 1996 Honda 400 Foreman so he could run larger tires and achieve more ground clearance. Scott and Mike soon realized that this was both a great and badly needed product, but also realized that it could never be sold and marketed in its current configuration as a weld-on accessory. Over the next few months, work began on developing the bolt-on lift kit. In the early days, there was plenty of outside help to get this project going. “We designed dozens of bolt-on kits before arriving at the finished product, a front lift for a Honda 400,” says Mike. Since Mike had a full time job working for Caddo Parish, he realized that his “real” job did not allow the flexibility to pursue completing the lift and then marketing it. Rather than see this much needed accessory go by the way side, Scott and Mike both decided that Scott would take over and make the High Lifter lift kit a reality. Once the front lift for the Honda 400 was completed, Scott began to run test ads in the local Thrifty Nickel. This generated enough interest in the lift that more ads were run in Thrifty Nickels in 10 other southern cities. Within a few months, High Lifter was spending more on Thrifty Nickel ads than the first Dirt Wheels ad cost and was not getting near as much exposure. Scott knew he needed a “shop” to work out of. He borrowed some money to buy some basic equipment and built a small workshop behind his house. Scott spent his nights after work building and selling the kits. “All inventory was kept in a small plastic dish-sized tub,” jokes Scott. The next order of business would be a name. Again, Mike came through. “The name High Lifter was selected as being reasonably indicative of what the product is – a lift that makes ATVs higher,” says Mike. Mud Nationals and Racing In 2003, we wanted to get some friends, customers, and ATV enthusiasts together for a weekend of fun, while showcasing products and sharing ideas, and as a result the High Lifter ATV Mud Nationals was born. Now this once a year event has become the largest Utility ATV event in the world, boasting more than 14,000 attendees (and growing each year), where ATV enthusiasts and riders from across the US and Canada come together for a weeklong extravaganza of mudding fun and racing action. In 2007, High Lifter announced a collaboration with Polaris to create high performance modifications and accessories for the newly-announced 2008 RANGER RZR. Shortly thereafter, Team High Lifter-Polaris Racing was formed. This team partnered the most experienced riders, fabricators and mechanics with world-class engineers at Polaris to create a racing machine that won nine trophies in their first two outings. The team continues to dominate the ATV mud racing scene. Near the end of that same year, building on the success and popularity of High Lifter events like Mud Nationals, we announced the beginning of construction of a brand new off-road racing park located on 574 acres of land in Keithville, Louisiana. Now as more and more serious racing teams form, attracting national media attention and major industry sponsors, ATV mud racing has become a highly competitive sporting and racing industry. Plans for professional ATV racing, that will attract thousands more spectators and competitors from across the nation, have been set into motion. The ATV industry is evolving and High Lifter couldn’t be prouder to be at the forefront of that change. High Lifter was proud to announce the beginning of what we believe is the birth of a new era in the ATV industry and enthusiast community with the inception of the “High Lifter Pro Series Racing” professional ATV mud racing points system. The HLPSR was formed to organize, promote, and bring national awareness and recognition to ATV Mud Racing as a sport. In 2008, High Lifter was named Small Business of the Year by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and The Forum News. This award honors the achievements, sustainability, productivity and contributions to the community of area businesses. The entrepreneurial skills of Scott Smith, along with an outstanding support staff of employees have made High Lifter Products one of the leading ATV aftermarket businesses in the nation.

  16. Date: 5/9/2007 KAWASAKI PRODUCTS TAKE TOP HONORS AT INDUSTRY AWARDS PRESENTATION Ehlert Publishing Group’s Awards of Excellence given to both Kawasaki KFX®450R and Jet Ski® Ultra®250X Personal Watercraft Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMC) had much to celebrate Monday night as the company took home top honors in two product categories at Ehlert Publishing Group Inc.’s annual Awards of Excellence ceremony. Both the Kawasaki KFX®450R all-terrain vehicle and the Kawasaki Jet Ski® Ultra®250X personal watercraft were recognized as the top products in their respective categories. Each year, the editorial teams review the many offerings in all of the powersports categories, and then single out one unit in each for recognition. Editors from two of the Ehlert publications—ATV Sport magazine and WaterCraft World—were charged with making the decisions that made Kawasaki the most-recognized brand at the industry gathering. The all-new KFX450F was named “Sport Quad of the Year,” after also being recognized as the “Best 450 Sport Quad.” According to the editors, “For 2007, one machine excels in every category and is truly an engineering marvel.” “The KXF450F is more than just another four-stroke race quad. It’s one of the most comfortable sport models with the power and handling to please every type of ATV performance quad buyer.” Honored initially as the “Best Performance Personal Watercraft,” the Kawasaki Ultra 250X was given top recognition as “Watercraft of the Year,” with the editors saying the award is based on three criteria: “innovation, market appeal, and long-term impact on the industry….no vehicle promises to excel at all three better than Kawasaki’s Ultra 250X.” Patrick Kelly, KMC director of product planning, said the awards “are the culmination of continued cooperation between the development teams both here and in Japan, and they ultimately win their greatest recognition on the dealer floors. That’s where our customers benefit from the ongoing teamwork to provide the finest engineering and performance available in today’s powersports marketplace.”
