Anybody know the axle nut size on a '11 Grizz 700? Also, could use a link to maybe a youtube video or a how to thread explaining how to change out the lower front boot.

Title says it all. When I researched part it shows it does not exist anymore, discontinued. What can I do to stop the leak? Is there somewhere else I should be looking for part? The leak is coming from where shifter goes through seal, not around outside of seal between case and seal. Thanks.

I just picked up a Big Bear 350 4x4, I was told it was a 1994 model. It runs and drives, but needs a bunch of work (I picked it up for a winter project). Anyhow, the front drive shaft is so loose that it falls right out of the splined u joint. The splines aren't worn out, I'll try to get a picture later on but it seems like the drive shaft is too short. It doesn't look broken or extremely worn, but when the pushed all the way into the rear u joint (by the engine) the front of the shaft is not even making connection with the front U joint and the shaft falls out of the front U joint. I can't figure out why it would be like that, the U joints don't look broken or worn (the splines look OK). The spring is still on the shaft up by the front U joint, but it's like the spring is pushing the shaft right out of the joint. Is there supposed to be something keeping the shaft from sliding too far into the rear joint?

I'm gonna tag this thread with Foreman 500 secondary gear reduction. Im doing that because on the 500s the secondary gear reduction is accomplished by changing the gear on the output shaft and the smaller gear directly above it. So this could be very useful for someone doing that procedure as well. So let's start from the beginning. It was a great day to ride at Highlifter, and we set out into the woods. Not long after a heard a huge clunk and the bike lurched forward when giving it gas. I was able to engage 4wd and the front tires pulled me back to the trailer. There was some awful noises along the way however so I knew something was torn up pretty good. I cut the driveshaft boot off and found this: So I went ahead and took the swingarm off and this curious little guy fell out: When I dumped the swingarm out, this was in the driveshaft tunnel: I also noticed the output shaft was bugared up, and the rear case was cracked a little, so I ordered up some parts. Output shaft 23611-HP0-A00 $43 Rear crankcase cover 11340-HP0-A10 $136 (comes with 91201-965-000 o'ring pre-installed) Kickstart cover gasket 11396-HP0-A00 $11 Rear cover gasket 11395-HP0-A00 $13 Output shaft seal 91205-HM7-003 $10 Optional but I did not order: Kickstart oil seal 91202-HP0-A01 $8 --------------------

I need to know what the dimensions are on the shorter female yoke. I have 2 of the longer ones, need to machine down one of them. What I need is the distance between the center of the Spider hole to the top or end where the shaft slips in. Part #s 49177-1080 & 49177-1081. If anyone can help I would be most grateful. I took on this frame swap job for My Landlord, and its becoming a nightmare of mis ordered parts. I have access to a Mill & Lathe so I would rather whittle one down than wait for more parts. It appears from the parts diagram that the shorter one has a groove on the outside. Thanks Guys

Ok, so I bought this atv, and after getting it home and running it for a while an engine noise developed. It was not constant but very annoying. After reading several post I thought it was timing chain tensioner and decided to tackle the job. I have the head off and timing chain exposed, but it seems good and tight. One area of concern I have, is to the right of the lobes is some piece of the cam shaft that seems to have lots of slack in it. It might be called the decompression cam. If so, is this thing supposed to be able to rattle around? If not, that may be my problem. Are there any clips or something of the sort that are supposed to lock it in tightly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im no mechanic but can follow directions.

I have an 05' LTZ 250 that needs a new rubber boot on the shaft. Do I need to pull the swingarm and rear shock off and pull the shaft out to replace the boot?

Does anyone know how to dismantle the axle on a Chinese 110 atv I don't know extract model or the motor say united motors, I think it is a 110. I need to get at the rear gear and shaft out. The teeth are striped and I need to replace them. If you have a service manual or photos it would be great.

Has anyone run into this problem before? A 1990 Yamaha 350 Big Bear. Needed to replace swingarm bearings and rubber boot. Bearings done but when we (mechanic neighbour and self) went to replace the rubber boot with the factory issued new one (from Yamaha dealer) it was the wrong size. One end (swingarm end) fits fine but the other (trans side) is considerably larger - no possible fit. Both ends should be approximately same size as the swingarm end. Dealer says the previous owner likely switched out the rear end; but mechanic says there would be clear evidence of jerry rigging. He thinks possibly Yamaha Canada and Yamaha USA are different. And as poor luck would have it, I threw out the old boot! Visited a few ATV dealers about a rubber boot aprox. same side both ends but no one seems to know what to suggest. Any suggestions? Chris

I replaced the rear output shaft seal a year ago and it's leaking badly again. They are a pain to do because of the yoke being bolted to the shaft and the nut behind it. Has anybody seen this happen routinely to know if there may be something contributing to it like a bushing worn out on the output shaft that allows play? Also, any helpful hints as to how to get the nut off easier? Thank you.

Looking for some help on how to take the front drive shaft out on my 1991Yamaha Big Bear so we can replace the u joint.

I stopped at a Polaris Dealer today and found out Polaris not only changed the part and number between the output shaft from 3233689 to 3234224 but the output gear shaft changed too from 3233688 to 3234266 so you cant buy one without the other. So I'm looking for a original shaft or a Gearcase for a 2003 250cc Trail Blazer the shaft also fits the following models 1999 sport,2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005 Trail Boss, Trail Blazer, or Scrambler. My shaft has sheared off where the small chain sprocket is attached

Please Please any help -- I'm replaceing my right front half shaft and I dont know how to get the axle out... I got the axle apart and pulled the entire unit away from the Quad - I have a complete axle to replace it. When I tapped the axle, it pulled everything away from the quad. That's not what I wanted as the 'green egg' (that my axle slides into) came away from the differential I can't dis-attach it from my axle. I pulled the boot back and can see the bearings in the 'green egg' but cant get the axle out of the green egg-- it wants to pull the bearings out and they wont come out either. (which is good) - I dont really want to pull that out/apart and mess with those. I wanted to pull the axle out and slip mine in. How do I get that out???

:skeptic:I own a TRX500FA Honda Foreman Rubicon 2002. My son stuck a corn stalk into the front drive shaft oil seal. The shaft that comes out of the front of the motor, going to the front drive axle. I need to know what my options are to replacing it. The seal is ruined. Do I need to tear down the lower unit of the motor to replace the seal or does the drive shaft seperte. Please let me know. Or if anybody knows where I can download a repair manual of the web, or email me one that would be great. Not really wanting to purchase one. I will if I absolutely need to. Any Info would be greatly appreciated. Thxs. WeekEndWarrior.

I have an 04 yfz 450 and today I went for a ride and it appears to me that the shaft that the shift pedal attaches to broke inside. I have not really looked at it yet cause i have to pull the entire engine and split the case to investigate more. I was just wondering if this is a common problem on the yfz's and if they made a stronger shaft to put in them. I only want to have to do this one time cause it's a lot of work.
