I have a '94 160cc Quadrunner. Old, but has been working great. Suddenly one day when I tried to restart it all I hear is a loud and rapid clicking from the solenoid up by the battery. I bought a new solenoid online but that doesn't fix it. I took off the starter and it spins fine on the bench. I reinstalled the starter and then went directly from the battery to the pole of the solenoid that goes to the starter and it turned over so I think the battery is ok. It was brand new last November. I'm thinking it must be the solenoid. Seems unlikely that a brand new solenoid from Bikebandit.com would be defective but is that what the problem is? If so, I can send it back. Is there a way to test it with a multimeter to see if I get 12 volts? Could it be something else? Sure would appreciate any help. Deke

So I went through the top end and then put everything back together and did break in and then probably 3-4 rides. Now my start button doesnt work but i can jump the solenoid and it starts right up. I looked for bad connects and didnt see any. I then replaced the coil and got nothing. So before i blow more money on something i dont know if it will work, i would like your guys opinion on what it would be. Thanks. Oh and it is a suzuki 160 '91

Hey everyone! Working on a 400ex for a friend of my mom's because it will only start when you jump the solenoid. I have pretty much gone through all the wiring from the battery up to the plug for the start button and nothing is broken or connected incorrectly. I tested the yellow/green and yellow/red wires that come from solenoid and they both read 0 volts as they should. The key switch reads 12v as I believe it should as well. What has me stumped is that the black wire that comes out of the start button assembly reads different voltage numbers, although I know it should be 12v. Is it the start button for sure or could something else be causing me to get that reading? Thanks and sorry for the long post

I'm helping my 72 year old friend/riding buddy with his 08 Sportsman 500. We have full battery voltage at the battery and on the battery cable that connects to the solenoid. If I jump across the 2 posts the engine turns over fine. Also runs fine with the back up recoil. However, it doesn't appear to be getting any voltage to the solenoid from the key switch. Does anybody know of a common failure on these like a fuse or a circuit breaker etc. that supplies power to the solenoid?

Can someone tell me where I can find the rear solenoid (I think that's what it's called) it has the battery connected to it and the winch. For a 07 Honda Foreman 500?

Hi guys, I just bought a new starter solenoid (part # 4011335) for my Magnum 500 and it is a little different from the old one. It has two posts, a top one and a bottom one. I just need to know which one gets the red wires and which one gets black, or does it matter? Thanks for any input! -JerryC
