So I will describe my last 2 rides so you know what the conditions were. The first was my last race, very wet and muddy, no crashes. She ran like a raped ape, no problems at all. The next ride was some trail riding that was wet and very rocky. I bounced off of a rock pretty good on my belly skid plate. I stopped to check for damage, none, then I turn my key back to start and I lose all electrical. I was able to pop start it and get it back to the truck. I find later that the main fuse is blown, replace it. The quad starts up just fine everything is gravy. Several hours later I turn the key on again and blow the fuse instantly. There was no riding or bouncing between the 2 starts. :aargh:WHY?

This recall notice only pertains to vehicles within the following VIN Ranges: JH2TE320*6K000019 to JH2TE320*6K010997 (TRX450ER) JH2TE324*6K000007 to JH2TE324*6K000111 (TRX450R) *: Denotes check digit January 2007 IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE Dear TRX Owner: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act. What is the reason for this notice? In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, American Honda Motor Co.,Inc. is conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain 2006 model year Honda TRX450R/ER ATV’s. Our records indicate that you own one of these vehicles. What is the problem? A safety defect may exist in the steering system of your TRX. The front suspension arm ball joints may have been contaminated during the production process, resulting in rapid wear of the ball joints and possible ball joint separation. If ball joint separation occurs while riding, the TRX could lose steering control and may crash. What should you do? Honda strongly recommends that you do not operate your TRX until it has been repaired. Parts will be available soon. We will send you another letter notifying you when you can go to your Honda ATV dealer for the free replacement of all four front suspension arms (Right/Left & Upper/Lower). If you must operate the vehicle prior to repair, perform the following inspection before each ride to ensure that the ball joints have not loosened: Visual and Physical Inspection of the upper and lower ball joints: Park the TRX on a flat, hard surface, such as a driveway or hard packed dirt surface. Turn the handlebars until the front wheels are aimed straight ahead. With the handlebars centered, grab the tire with both hands as shown. Push and pull the top of the tire while feeling for any looseness, listening for a clicking/knocking noise, and observing the upper and lower ball joint housings for up and down movement. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side. If you perceive any looseness, hear noise, or observe movement of the ball joint housing, the ball joint has excessive freeplay and must be replaced before the TRX is operated. If you do not feel qualified to inspect your ball joints, please do not operate your vehicle until it has been repaired. If you feel any excessive steering looseness or hear noise while riding, stop the vehicle and check the ball joints. If you have questions. If you have questions about this notice please call Honda Motorcycle Customer Support at (866) 784-1870. You may also visit our Web site at www.hondamotorcycle.com for more information. What to do if you feel this notice is in error. This notice was mailed to you according to the most current information we have available.
