I dont have a manual for the bike. I want to change the oil and filter but im sure where to drain the oil and refill. Actually im not even sure where the oil filter is. Is the engine oil and tranny oil the same? If so do i need to drain engine oil and tranny oil separately? As you can tell Im confused:huh:. Anyone able to help? Thanks, Mike

Guess I spoke to soon. Bragged on another thread about how well this bike ran. And it DID. But then I noticed gas leaking from the overflow tube on the carb. Bike still ran great though. Anyway figuring the floats were stuck I removed the carb checked the floats and put back together. Then it wouldn't start. Turn over but no go. But it didn't leak. When I finally got to start it ran like crap. So took carb back off, re checked floats and porting as best as I could. Re-installed carb and now not only does it run like crap but its leaking fuel from over flow tube even worse. I've ordered a new carb kit for it. I'm not real well versed in carberation so I'm trying to proceed carefully. Any tips tricks or general input is welcome. Thanks, Mike

Looking for a little help with diagnosing a noise on my 2001 Kodiak 400 YFM. It sounds like a stack cam chain. I checked the Tensioner and it appeared to be ok, but fully extended when I removed it for inspection. I opened the cam cover and the tensioner arm (aft) seems ok, chain seems tight. I also noticed that the pull starter is very hard to pull. It seem like it might be turning over the starter as if it was still engaged. When it is started by the starter it makes a loud clang right before it starts. I read about the recoil clutch. Not sure if that might be the noise. The ATV is new to me. My neighbor has run it for the last year making the noise. Any help is greatly appreciated....Thanks..from tampa....

My stock coil has a wire on it that goes to this little black box that I'm assuming is the CID box. When looking on EBAY for a new replacement coil I see that they don't have the extra wire. (other than not having the wire they are the same) They advertise them for years 85-. Different application? They either have the years posted wrong or they are bypassing that box. Can someone please educate me:) Thank You Rick [email protected]
