Somehow I lost all of my spark on my 350Big Bear, its a 1990. It ran well for maybe 3 days! Thought it was the carb. Cleaned it 4 times. It was losing power at midrange. Got worse and worse. Finally nothing! Are these good coils? I was thinking I could swap? 2002 Honda-200cc: primary 0.4(ohm-200) secondary 9.0(ohm20k) 1990 Yamaha-350cc: primary 0.8 secondary 11.0

I'm looking for advice and a service manual for a 1990 Yamaha 250 Moto. Its old but its mint except for a pretty bad driveline noise when changing from forward to reverse and back. It also makes the same noise if you are moving forward at slow speed and you bounce on the suspension. I think it could be the drive shaft U joint. Any advice or help with a service manual would be appreciated. Under the gun for timing. Taking it up north in a week and a half.:canadaflag:

Anyone know how to get the pull start pully off the crank so I can get my left crankcase cover off so I can change my stator out. Should I use a 3 claw bearing puller, has anyone done it with succes, I dont have one so have to rent/buy/borrow one but from the pics I dont know if it will fit between the pulley and case. This is a picture of what Im trying to get off, there is no bolt holes on the inside to thread a diffrent type of puller into. The center bolt came right out.

Two thumbs up! Very excited this morning. Temp was 26 degrees this morning so I decided to try a cold start on the Big Bear before heading to work. She fired right up! Awsome!

Hi again I am reassembling the bike after a few days when life got in my way. My notes show that the bottom carb tube is an overflow. But I am not sure that my notes are correct. I have 3 tube connections on the carb: top on is an air breather from the air inlet system. the middle tube is for the gas supply from the tank the bottom one I believei s an overflow tube. Is this correct. I attach a pic for clarity. Regards Richard

Hi This bike is fighting me at every turn. 2 of the 3 allen key bolts holding the oil filter cover are stuck. They have an internal 6mm key which has been rounded out. Partly by me but mainly before I touched it. Has any one any experience in removing these stubborn bolts, that is the lowest (the most difficult to get at) and right hand top bolt. My thoughts are drilling the heads out or using a centre punch to hammer the heads around, (could this crack the engine housing where the bolt threads are??) also drilling and using screw extractor. Any thoughts and advice would be welcome.

More observations and questions on this new to me bike. The rear brakes work OK but its obvious that they are in need of attention. It appears to me that the brake lever has been slightly bent at somepoint in its life. Another observation is the pedal travel is huge so I use the hand brake instead. Both cable adjusters are cinched all the way down as far as they can go. I have yet to pull the wheel and inspect the pads yet. I suppose my real question is does what I've described suggest need for new pads and cables or should new pads only get my adjusters, etc back into a more "normal" state like whats is shown in the service manual pictures? Also, I think I might be able to bend the lever back but seriously wondering if it really needs to be corrected. It is definately "off" a bit but not very much. Thoughts?

I recently acquired a 1990 LT250 4wd and was wondering what you guys thought of it and if it would be a decent trail quad? I'm not looking to do monster jumps or race or anything like that, I just like riding trails, having never owned one (a 4 wheeler, been pretty hardcore on 3 wheels since I started riding) I'm not sure what exactly to expect.

Hi. The air cleaner case has 2 ducts coming from or into it one goes to the carb. The other duct on mine is not connected to anything other than where it comes out of the case. It has an open end about 1 1/2" dia ending under the gas tank with a crankcase breather connected to it. Where should it connect to ??? (cannot see it in the service or owners manual) nor can I see any suitable connection point.

Hi All, I have a 250 quadrunner 2wd and the title says 1990 and the vin number checks out right but I got it used and have had it for several years. I'm having fits with the carburator and have the factory service manual but the carb pictured in the book is different from mine and i can't even find a similar model on ebay or anywhere. I bought a kit for it and the float needle is different and that is the main problem I'm having. I can get it started and idling fine then the next day it won't hardly start. It's about to drive me crazy

Hi, I am working on a machine for my neighbor LT250 fwd and have several problems. 1)I don’t know what year it is because I can’t locate the serial number.2)The starter doesn’t work when I push the button. It is in neutral, the parking brake is on and the key is on. The neutral light and reverse lights do not come on. I can bypass the starter button with a wire to the solenoid and it turns over. 3) There is spark and fuel but it won’t start. I already cleaned the carb. 4)The compression seems low because when I put my finger over the spark plug hole it does not push my finger off. They spent 500 bucks a while back and one of the items the guy did was adjust the valves. Not sure if this could be the problem. It lasted a month after they got it back and it has been dead since. Any help would be much appreciated.
