  1. I know this has been talked about, so i did some research. After my research, i started buying parts. Here are the parts you need: 51380-HP7-A00, left front upper control arm 51370-HP7-A00, right front upper control arm 51350-HP5-600, right front lower control arm 51360-HP5-600, left front lower control arm 44615-HP5-600, front drive hubs (need 2) 53521-HP5-600, tie rods (need 2, this is just the adjuster rod, not the tie-rod ends) 51200-HP5-600, right steering knuckle 51250-HP5-600, left steering knuckle 53235-HP5-600, steering arm (connects the tie rod ends to the steering shaft) 23611-HP5-600, "final shaft", goes inside the engine, provides power to front and rear driveshafts) 40400-HP5-600, front driveshaft 44250-HP7-A31, right front axle 44350-HP7-A31, left front axle 11300-HP5-000, front crankcase cover 50350-HP5-600, front differential support bracket 41400-HP5-A50, front differential unit You also need the 4wd shift lever and the cable that connects it to the differential. there is not a part number for the whole assembly, just look on ebay. thats where i got mine. Now on to the good part, the turning of wrenches: Here is the engine before removal: after removal: front differential in position: ^^^notice the "TRX420TM" decal, indicating 2wd Here is a pic of the "final shaft", comparing the 2wd (in my hand) to the 4wd (in the engine). ^This is the most difficult part of this conversion, removing and opening the engine to swap out this shaft. However, there is a lovely video on youtube showing how to rebuild this engine and they clearly show the steps to remove/replace the rear cover and final shaft. Dont forget to remove the front cover before installing the new shaft, it will not fit thru the 2wd front cover. link to video>: once the new shaft is installed: you will need to install the front and rear covers using sealant, make sure all shims/washers and o-rings are in place in the correct locations referencing the video above. here is the right front corner mostly assembled: and fully assembled with hub, rotor, and brake caliper: I do have more pictures to upload, when i have more time i will update this further
  2. Hey all, I just want to start by saying I am brand spanking new to the wide world of ATV's. I had one as a kid, then didnt step foot on one again till yesterday. And that brings me to this site. I just got a used Timberwolf 2wd of Craigslist. I am a very excited new quad owner. Its not perfect, it smokes and if you dont stay on the gas it turnes off most of the time. Also there is no battery atm so I am using the pull start. So heres my deal. I got it right around sun down. Rode it around for about 10 minutes, bought it. Rode it around again for another maybe 20 minutes as the sun was fully set. (It needs a battery before the lights will work I am told). So I park it. Next morning. I go outside, pull the choke. And she fires right up. Rode her around for about 30 - 45 minutes. I got home from that ride and was going to go park it. I down shifted into neutral so as to put it in reverse, and before I could get it in gear it died. And I hanvt been able to get it started again. Choke in choke out nothing. I have a couple ideas, let me know what you all think. 1. Clean the very very filthy air filter, not sure though it would make it die and not start. 2. Clean the carb. I am very confused though because it worked and worked then all the sudden nothing. 3. Get a battery. I am hoping that in getting a battery it will work with the electronic start. 4.Change the gas. The gas that came with it is discolored and looks old. Still, it got me 10 miles at least no problem. I kinda think maybe the fact that it cant hold an idle withoout being on the gas may have something to do with why it now wont start. Other than that, all I can think is to take it to a shop. But I am a broke as* so I really dont want to have to do that. Any questions or suggestions would be great.
  3. Just checking up, now that im getting to giving the new "to me" 93 moto4 350 2wd a tune up. Are there any weak points to really keep an eye on for failure? Never had a shaft driven quad before. On a side note, my yamaha came with a plow which i fully plan to use this winter, are there any dos and donts for plows with this quad? gears to avoid? etc? obviously letting your bike warm up etc.
  4. I have a 2001 Honda Foreman that is 2WD. I was considering purchasing a snow plow for it to plow snow in our driveway this winter. A few people have told me that a 2WD will not be able to plow snow. Before I purchase (or not purchase) a plow, I thought I would get some feedback from those of you with more experience. I don't intend on trying to plow 2-foot deep snow, but I was hoping that my 2WD would be able to clear up to 6-8 inch deep snow. Also, my driveway is about 100 feet long with about the last 50 feet declining slightly to the road. Thanks for the feedback.
