Is it possible to put a motor from a big bear 350 into a timberwolf? Reason I ask is that I have a timberwolf with a bit of a rod knock, and I have big bear with a bad rear end and axle with a good motor. So, is it possible?

So my 2006 Honda 350 fm is having an issue where the neutral light doesn’t come on. I’ve shifted into neutral, checked all the fuses, the battery is good and still no neutral light comes on when I turn the key. I found the neutral safety switch connecter and hooked an alligator clip to the green and red striped wire and put the other end of the alligator clip to the negative side of the battery and nothing happens. I put an alligator clip to the gray wire and put the other end to the negative side of the battery. Nothing happens. I can put the alligator clip to the positive side of the battery and the reverse light on the dash will come on. I tried doing the green and red stripe wire to the positive side of the battery and the light doesn’t come on that way either. So neither the negative or positive side of the battery will turn the neutral light on. Only the reverse light works but only on the positive side of the battery. The ohm meter will only read continuity on the gray reverse wire. Not getting any kind of reading on the green/red wire.No continuity just a big open line reading for thegreen/red wire. Is the neutral safety switch brokeN?

Okay so here's the deal I really need some help I got the quad from my buddy he had the head redone because of smoke it was either two things rings or valves so all that looks good I got the exhaust valve and intake valve to spec with the rocker arms then I had made sure cam was in TDC it lined up in spec then I was trying to start it up for the first day it started but ran like s*** then I had the next day recharge the battery and tried to start it again still run like s*** but I was just curious if it ran so I was thinking it was taking too long to start up so I clean carburetor today and retried to start it up and the only electrical part that was disconnected was the ground to the reverse gear controller so that I could take off the throttle then I pulled the spark plug out to check to see if I had spark the last 2 days I had spark cuz I pulled the spark plug out and seen it but today when I went to clean the carburetor out I accidentally left the battery on on all night and now I have no spark at all I pulled off the spark plug boot the screw thang and put my hand on the spark plug wire as I turned it over with the starter by the way the starter runs great now but zero electricity I'm just wondering how do I test my coil what is the resistance/ohm's it needs to be inspect I can't find it nowhere and how do I eliminate the fact if it's the stator somebody says something about a CDI and I seen a form saying if I unplug the voltage regulator your spark plug might spark again but I clean most of the connections I still have no spark

Hi, I'm a new member Just bought a used 08 350 raptor with about 5 hours on it ( very clean ). Started fine when we got it. Now after a few mods (bumper, skid plates, air filter) Now will not start unless you pull in the clutch. I've checked just about everything and also checked that there is no pinched wires. Anybody have any ideas?:bangheadc: Thanks, Dave

I am a new atv owner...I bought a used atv this summer (pretty sure it is a wolverine but reg card from last owner didnt actually say that so idk for sure). It ran great for most the summer and early fall but one day I tried starting it and it turned over a while without starting and then suddenly it quit turning over at all. No click or anything. I charged battery and light turns on showing neutral and heatlight can go on. A few other things that may be pertinent: The pull start is missing, I have a fluke multimeter but not many other advanced tools (or relevant experience), there is an extra aftermarket led light attached to front but it doesnt work either... never looked into why since I didnt need it. I looked for a fuse box and didnt find one. Please recommend some easier things to try first as I really want to avoid taking it in if I can (having one income and 4 kids can keep out extra cash, plus I want to learn). Pictures would be awesome if possible. Thanks!

I have a Yamaha Big Bear 350 and the reverse doesn’t work, it shifts from low to high easily but it won’t go back to reverse. I’m new to this stuff, so I’ll take any help. Any ideas?

I have recently rebuilt my Yamaha warrior 350 engine and when I got it all back together with no “spare parts” i went to start it and realized it’s in reverse. I went to put it in drive and the shifter won’t budge, I took the linkage off and tried to use vise grips but it won’t budge at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping it’s not something internal!

So here's the deal people, I have an old Avenger 350 4X4 Shaft Driven ATV. They only made them in the early 80's their thought of as the first four wheelers from around back when Suzuki made one in 1982. I believe the engine on it is a Kohler as I watched this video https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=avenger+400+atv&view=detail&mid=1E10E939019CA07770031E10E939019CA0777003&FORM=VIRE but mine is a 350. That's if its original, and it all looks original. I am wondering where I can get parts for this engine, or really what engine is it. I have no way to find the year, unless you guys know where a serial number might be. Every sticker is worn off. IF anyone has any information at all on these old wheelers it would be greatly appreciated. I specifically need the gaskets for the carb, and don't tell me I could build them please I want to restore it as perfectly as I can. I can take pictures of the wheeler/carb if it'll help. Let me know.

Yamaha Big Bear 350CC 1991 Reverse Reving Problem
Martin Carrière posted a topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
Recently bought my BB. Everything works great. Only thing is, each time I put it in reverse, it either starts to rev high and start moving without giving it gas or I'll give it a bit of gas and let go and it will still rev at the same rpm or higher and keep moving. Doesn't do it for high or low. -

Bought a 87 big bear for 200 and he said it had a bad coil which I knew probably wasn't the issue so after days of searching and tinkering with the quad I found out that it has spark with key in off position but no spark with key in on position?? There was alot of jimmy rigging but it looks as though the wires are in place correctly I tried reversing wires on key switch same issue and I checked kill switch on handle bar and it has been removed Any ideas of where to start?

Hi, brand new to the forum and first time ATV owner at 46. I picked up what is believed to be an 87 to 89 big bear 350 4x4. The owner was not sure. My big question is it appears the shifting is neutral at the bottom and five up unlike all my dirt bikes. Is this right? There is no Manuel and I have not had enough time or area to get it up to speed and run it through the paces. Any help, owners manuals, and an order of things to inspect and service first? Thank you, Dan

My front dif is leaking oil pretty bad around the yoke. I completely pulled the whole dif from my bike and now stuck trying to get the yoke unbolted from the dif body. There's a large nut in the center of the yoke and I've tried using impact wrench and not budging. The nut and bolt kind of looks like it has a crimp spot made to keep it from backing off the bolt I guess. Does that sound right? What's the easiest way to remove it? Just soak with some type of lube and try again with the impact?

Im used to build threads coming from the 4x4 truck world. Im sure not as many here have older quads, but its my first, it is what it is. Im going to rock this thing I like modifying, making the things the best they can be so Ill try to do that with my quad. I know theres only so much I can do, but my main focus is reliability. I dont care so much about power or speed. My trails around here are crawling trails anyway, so Im in 1st-3rd most of the time. So I have an 89 Big Bear, full time 4x4, auto clutch, IFS, solid rear axle, drive-shaft, "disc" rear, drum front. Thats all I know for now, still learning, only had it two weeks or so. Ive bought a stock used air box since mine was broken and wasnt sealing anything, no filter. Got a new filter assembly, tore apart and rebuilt the carb. Oh ya got it for $900, has a winch too. About $100 into it currently. Carb rebuid kit is on the way, few more misc parts for the carb. Its missing the little clip/housing for the throttle cable, and the baffle that goes in the float bowl. Also ordered a new ignition cylinder, I currently turn it on/off with a random key, screw driver, etc. Also the on/off switch on the left handle bar is stuck and doesnt work. Read a later model big bears front disc setup will bolt on, or mostly bolt on. Mud and dirt dont mix with drum brakes, so Ill look further into that. It would also need a new master cylinder. Took the muffler off, it was leaking all over. The baffle was rattling around inside the body of the muffler. So I welded it all up. One day Ill change it. Ive only seen two other "after market" muffler systems thatll hopefully work. Theyre supposed to fit later model big bears. Ill get to that one day. Ill post pics and edit this later. Its dinner time
