  1. Does anyone use GPS, whether on a device or app to record their ATV trail rides? I have been thinking about a section where our members can upload let's say a .gpx file and share their rides on a google map for others to see where there are riding areas. Not sure if this is something of interest or how much it would be used, so just trying to get an idea. Importing routes from files like xml, lmx, tour, freshroute, gpx, kmz, kml
  2. It just sucks when your ATV goes missing and you can't find it, right? Hopefully you just forgot where you parked it! Now if someone took off with your ATV, that's a problem. You may never find it again and it'll be sold to someone with the VIN scraped off and you are out of luck. If it's worth some money you probably insured it, so good job and notify the authorities immediately. However, nowadays with the way mobile and GPS technology works, you can just equip it with a tracker (some newer ATVs are coming with GPS built in) so that if the day comes that someone makes off with it, you'll find your ATV and the thieves! We looked around to see what technology exists out there and found the SPOT Trace! This unit retails for $119.95 and sells for around $99.99 online. We found it on Amazon for $97.99! 4. I recently purchased a polaris Sportsman 500 and am looking forward to riding trails into the backcountry. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good, rugged GPS unit that will handle rough trails and be easy to read in the sun.

  8. I've completed a set of custom trail maps for the Hatfield McCoy Trail system. These maps can be uploaded to your Garmin GPS receivers. These maps can be also installed into your existing Mapsource software for upload to your GPS unit or can be directly uploaded to your GPS reciever with software included with the maps package. Now you can know where you are on the trail, where the parking lot is, which roads are near by and even which trail intersection is coming up. This map installer is designed to integrate into an existing copy of Garmin's MapSource. Included is SendMap, a program that allows you to load the maps to your GPS without having MapSource installed. For more info about these maps go to West Virginia ORV GPS Map - VVMapping.com Ed...
