Hey guys. Just wanted to say hi. Im usually a forum lurker and I'm sure I will be doing that here quite a bit in the future, but I need to get to those downloads! Today I picked up a 1995 KLF300C. The plastics are in pretty good condition but the rest of it needs some work. Didn't have a ton of free time to look it over today but I noticed a few things -pull cord is either busted or was put on wrong -What I think is the reverse lockout is just hanging in a hole in the plastic and is not hooked up in any meaningful way -fuel valve is leaking which reveals a startling amount of ethanol sludge -exhaust is 99% rust I wasn't able to confirm I was in neutral so not sure if it will turn over but I imagine something electric is in need of replacing Altogether I think it's gonna be a bit of work and learning, I've never had a Kawasaki before. But I only paid 100 bucks for it so I'm not too worried. Where do you guys think I should start with this thing? Anyway good to be here! I look forward to pursuing the forum frequently!

Hi guys new to this forum and thought I’d jump on as I’ve just bought my first quad a Kawasaki bayou klf300c 89 model. It had starting issues when I bought it so I’ve gone thru and replaced the cdi, voltage regulator and starter solenoid aswell as rebuilt the starter motor after all this it was still free spinning on electric start so I pulled the stator cover off to find the fly wheel wasn’t spinning so replaced the one way clutch bearing put it all back together and still not engaging at all. I’m at a loss and looking for some ideas on we’re to look next to solve the problem cheers Ben 👍

Has anyone on this forum ever done a starter rebuild instead of buying a new one? I have a 2000 KLF300c that I have changed the solenoid on and am getting power to the starter but no electric start. I was looking at options online and I can get a replacement for $45 but see that rebuild kits are only around $15, anyone have any luck with these?
