  1. I have an '88 250 that's going to need some repairs. Are parts still available for these older machines? Thanks in advance
  2. Hello guys! New to the forum, and fairly new to ATVs. I've driven them, but never owned one. Now I do own one. Just picked it up today. It's a 1999 Yamaha Big Bear 350. It's been through some stuff. The guy I got it from told me the previous owner removed the front diff because he didn't want to replace the half shaft. So it's 2wd, even though it's supposed to be 4x4. Lovely. I can deal with that for now. More importantly, I need to get it running. The carb needs to be rebuilt. The guy I got it from said he sprayed it all out and it still didn't work. I'm concerned he might have damaged it or not put all the parts back. I was looking at a replacement carb, and the OEM parts is $600. I'd rather not spend $600 if there are any other options. I have seen carbs on Amazon and eBay that are in the $40 - $100 range that say they fit. Anyone have experience with these? I'm going to get a rebuild kit for the current carb just to make sure that won't fix it. Thats the first thing with it. Secondly, it was completely rewired. I need to find a original wiring diagram so I can put it back how it was, with a key and all. Currently it's wired with just a rocker switch. Any sources for a service manual that would include wiring diagrams? Thirdly, is the Big Bear 350 a good atv? I picked it up for $700. It does start and run when you spray starting fluid into the air intake, so I am not concerned about the engine being bad. I plan to use it for the farm, running around and carrying things with it like minerals and feed and such. Not really for mudding and things like that. How good is the 99 350? I am certain I will have more questions as I examine it more, but that's all for now. Thanks in advance for the assistance! -Blenderite

  11. We have updated our Parts Seach section under "SHOP" with results from ebay and amazon. This is a web based search which includes supporting sellers who provide their product catalogs for us to use in our search results. In turn, if something is purchased, QUADCRAZY earns a small percentage as a kick back, which helps maintain this community. We've also added a convenient key word based search box at the top right of this site for ease of use. So check it out if you are in the market to buy some things for your toys and at the same time, help support QUADCRAZY with your purchases!
  12. I had to give up on getting parts from the local dealer.I needed a oil filter for my arctic cat 300 which you need a o-ring on the cover when changing. They had the filter but no o-ring which they could order and have it in about a week. And this was at a shop that had service also,so what do they do if someone has a machine in there for service wait.So instead I just paid the shipping and ordered it on line instead of burning gas chasing parts. So the question is this pretty much the norm now,and if so who do you think the best online parts supplier is?
  13. First relax, take a deep breath, stand back and analyze the situation. No crank (electric start) Check to make sure the key is on Battery - chk for 12v @ batt, chk w/ load tester, chk acid/water levels Fuses - chk wiring to fuses, chk fuse holder, fusible links, starter connection wiring- MAKE SURE ALL grounds and connections are clean and tight kick start/pull start - if it starts that way the motor isnt blown now narrow diag to starter circuit Crank no start- Bad gas - an atv sitting for a year isnt going to start right away nor run correctly. Remove old gas, clean filter and drain/clean carb E-switch - make sure kill switch is on Running issues - wiring- make sure all connections are clean, tight (cable ties) and waterproofed carb- if you dont know how to adjust your carb have someone do it as I found out there is an art to it. if it is a factory carb follow the service manual. water - "runs like sh** after I went through 4 feet of water" - Ummm yeah D/L a service manual for your atv. Most are free. Someone has to have one. Everyone on QC has had a similar problem and maybe a solution, but what may sound like a ticking to you could sound like a rod knock to someone else. We arent there so we dont know but I do know everyone on here is very helpful Invest in a quality set of tools and KNOW HOW TO USE THEM! The tools that came with your atv arent quality tools. Start with the easiest things first. If you have 2 similar quads swap parts first. Today I had a brand new boom piston that was bad from the factory. It cost me $3800. The factory swore I was doing something wrong but I went through their checklist and did some common sense checking before I called them. So now they are paying all shipping and restocking fees. This could of gotten ugly and expensive if I just started replacing everything else in that hydraulic circuit and assumed the brand new piston wasnt the problem. Anyone else want to add some common things to check, please do as one person never has all the answers.

  16. I have ended up with 5 ATCs: a US90, 2 ea 110, a 185 and a 200s. All these critters need parts....What's your favorite parts source?
  17. Hay folks. Im will a newbee here. I work for all parts racing in Massachusetts. Im not trying to pedal parts and what not here, more custom graphics. Ive been lurking around sites and have done some reserch on my own, and found the prices are WAY up there. Being a quad rider i like my "look" black on black with skulls and what not. Everything i see is crap tribal and pistons. My background is in digital media. I have a masters in graphic design. If anyone here might be interested in having some custom stuff done or just want to have a few ideas thrown at them Let me know. Id really appreciate it. Thanks for taking a minute to read my post. If you want info e-mail me @ [email protected]
