There was an old circa 1900 hse ruins on back of property that i had torn down and cleaned up to protect the old stone chimney. Notice the fireplace. Its a Coal burning fireplace. Shallow framed in steel. There was an old circa 1900 house ruins on back of property. i had the wooden structure removed to preserve the stone chimney. I cleaned it up. jen 561 Posted June 23, 2025 Here is a better view of the Coal fireplace. I stayed at a B&B in Great Briton that was a Old Old house in the county, 1600''s probably. It had a similar shallow fireplace with metal closure. The original structure had wooden pined Mortise and tenon beams. The stones in the chimney are inspiring. They look rock solid. Quote
Ejwill 17 Posted June 28, 2025 I think that’s great . I love old house places. My Dad was from Heard county ga. There was two of the houses he actually lived in still standing. One was covered in kudzu the other still had people living there. I like ancestry, I traced my family back to them to the mid 1700’s on one and 1200-1300’s on another. Very good photos and history, Jen. Quote
