I'm helping the widowed neighbor out to do some oil changes on her quads. Any recommendations on what type of oil to run in these machines?

My experience with any carb is to carefully document the removal and have some sort of guidance document for where the gaskets go and how they are oriented. You can spend a lot of time troubleshooting something because a gasket was put on backwards. Documentation is the key.

Do you have a recommendation for what type of oil to use?
