the carb was clean but i think i might have put the throttle cable in side the carb the wrong way.

hi i have a 1986 suzuki lt230 it was running fine 6 mouths ago then i got into the last gear and it backfired then stopped running i have had it for a year but i have only road it about 7 or 8 times scene i have had it last night i was working on it and i got it to strart and idle but it idles really high amd has a little backfire but it has no throttle reposne?
