1997 polaris Scrambler 400 will not go into forward gear! in Polaris ATV Forum Posted October 16, 2009 Is there any grinding when you try to shift into forward. I have that problem on my polaris and I had to fix the gears that had worn down. If there is no grinding and you are pushing into gear hard then something might be loose in the shifter.
