Good info.

Mine is marked 1.7L but took more than that with a filter change.

The 98 Bayou 300 2x4 I picked up has dry rotted tires and need to be replaced. They appear to be an oddball sized as there aren't many new ones available. Front 22x9-10 Rear 24x11-10

I too was drawn here to get the manual. However, I think I will poke around and see what everyone is up to.

Nice looking bike. I remember years ago when Polaris first came out with their bikes. I thought they were the coolest around.

I've owned bikes and quads for years. Currently ride an 07 Raptor 700 SE. My 15 year old son has a TRX 90 but he grew so much over the summer that he's outgrown it. I picked up a project bike (1998 Kawasaki Bayou 300) for a couple hundred. It started but wouldn't run so I knew the carb was in need of attention. Tires all shot (likely the original).
Pulled off the carb and put in the cleaner for a couple of days. Pulled it out and cleaned it up and installed a kit. Reinstalled and fired right up. Now I've got to chase down some wiring gremlins from the previous owner. No ignition key just some toggle switch. The wiring looks like it was hacked up by freddy kruger. Got to tear into it after we get back deer hunting this weekend. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I flirted with the idea of buying a cheap aftermarket chinese carb. In the end I just bought a carb kit. Let the carb sit in the cleaner bucket for a couple of days, cleaned it up and installed the kit. Runs great now except for the electrical gremlin I need to chase down.

I've ran Rotella diesel oil in several motorcycles and quads with good results.

I was looking for the same manual. I didn't locate one for the 2x4 model Bayou.
