Yamaha kodiak 1993 Fwd carb issues

just recently bought the new carb from eBay and installed it, used the same pilot jet size as the old carb, BUT used the fuel air mixture screw guidelines iv seen online, 2 1/2 turns out from seated- pulled spark plug out and tested it on metal and it Sparks as well the ignition switch on off works no spark, 

cant get any type of ignition from this carb, no pops or anything, it’s sounds like attempting to start a quad on the kill switch, fuel is new, I played with choke, I did notice the fuel air mixture screw on old carb was unscrews like 6 turns but that can’t be right, I got more sounds out the old carb attempting to start...
