  1. Definitely going to do that I have a feeling that head might be a problem I'll just use a straight edge and check it will a feeler gauge to make sure if it needs to be replaced.
  2. Rod isn't bent just looks like gasket came apart and separated from the metal inside it oil is coming out from around the gasket between head and cylinder could have possibly damaged it when installing it
  3. Sorry for late post on carb problem been busy at work. Finally got time to really look at the carb it ended up the head gasket is blown not sure if it will need a new head or just a gasket as of yet.
  4. And yes I was referring to repair manual.

  7. Tried just putting choke in carb not screwing it down immediately stops running noticed plug was black fouled it out tried new plug same thing tried 2 different carbs still does same thing. I've checked spark which is consistent not sure if plug is right one maybe that might be the issue.
  8. This thing came with a cheap aftermarket carb on it the problem I'm having is it won't start with choke installed into carburetor it will start and get run without it installed then bogs out after about 2 min run time I've checked timing , compression, checked valves for proper clearance , also did a smoke test for air leaks found none.
  9. I tapped into wire at regulator it is broke somewhere between it and ignition switch. Had power from battery to regulator same problem as the 300 I have. Didn't wanna have to to tear a wiring harness apart to replace one wire.
  10. Seems timing chain and guides have been replaced think they ran it low on oil at least bottom end is still good. This is cam that came out of atv.
  11. I just got finished checking the timing noticed it was about 2 teeth off and found that the outer camshaft bearing is worn out allowing the chain to be loose enough to jump timing. Do I need to replace inner and outer bearings while I have it apart ?
  12. I put a camera down spark plug hole could see a small amount of rust in there. So I'm going to pull head and check those rings , piston and cylinder out.
  13. Yes Already checked valve clearance as well they were within spec.
  14. My question is would it be easier to remove engine or just take apart on the frame ?
  15. Thank goodness for a contious volt meter all I can say. Also the fact I have a kawasaki bayou 300 which is wired very similarly I've had for a few years and I remembered after a couple days checking wires the same thing happened on it as well my brain wasn't working correctly lol. Next is tearing in for a top end rebuild I only have 70psi on compression tester.
  16. I got it the white wire is broke somewhere in harness so instead of pulling everything off to get to full wiring harness im going to run a new wire and zip tie it out of the way
  17. Im not getting 12v to ignition switch with key off or on I've jumped brown wire from starter relay to positive and neutral light comes on and push button start works. Can't figure out where to go from here any help appreciated l.
