Well I think I have myself a Frankenstein of a quad here. I picked up this 07 King Quad 700 earlier this summer, it ran fine but needed some tuning up. After changing all the fluids and putting a new spark plug in I still wasn't happy with how it performed. I swapped out the fuel pump and sock as well as throwing in a new injector. Here's where it gets interesting. I bought a new TPS for it but when I went to install it I discovered I had the wrong TPS. Fast forward to yesterday and I'm tinkering on it in the garage and I really start looking at the throttle body. It doesnt look like the TB in the service manual for a 700 but it DOES look like the TB found on the 450. I'm nearly certain that the engine itself is a 700 but I'm starting to think that the wiring harness and throttle body are off a 450, the bike even has the "choke lever" on the left grip like the 450 does. I can tell that there was a fire at some point but all the wiring and body panels show no signs of a fire, just the motor has gunk melted on it in spots. If I remember right the guy said he took two bikes to make one I just figured both bikes were exactly the same and not two different size engines. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Is it even possible to get a 700 to run with a 450 TB?
