I have an 07' TRX-90. The throttle was sticking in the wide open position. Changed throttle cable, still kept sticking. Changed the carb completely, throttle still sticking. After troubleshooting many different things I noticed that as long as I had the carb unattached to the intake manifold the throttle works fine. When I mount the carb to the manifold, and do not tighten the bolts, the throttle works fine. As soon as i put any torque whatsoever on the bolts attaching the carb to the manifold the throttle begins sticking wide open. I have attempted to put gasket material between the manifold and carb to allow for less torque. It shows slight improvement, but still sticks enough to prevent me from allowing my child to ride. Has anyone ever experienced this problem before? The only thing I can think to do now is change the intake manifold. Otherwise I have nothing. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

has anyone tried these cheap carbs from china? the original carburetor has been rebuilt by a shop right before i bought this quad and i think the float is shot the work done was way sub par... the price of the seal kit was as much as the whole carb... i have used the china 150cc engines with no problems... and have used the harbor freight 212cc engines on mini bikes.. so im hoping to hear so one has used them on this model with ease.... if no one replies i will update in a day or 2 i got the carb it looks very well made. has the carb sencer and warmer all ready installed..

      Hey guys,
Looking for some info on a 2000 Yamaha Kodiak.  When I leave it sitting I get fuel leaking out of the carb drain.  What causes this?  Float stuck?

So I bought a Bayou 220 as me 'Black Friday' score, and was informed it has carb issues..
A little history from the previous owner: they suspected the carb was bad as it was 'running like crap' so they did a rebuid kit on it. Didn't fix issue so they took it to a shop where the tech installed an aftermarket(?) carb, but had to modify the throttle cable to get it to work. Quad ran great at 1/4 throttle, but anything above that and the throttle would stick and the machine would run like garbage again.
What I know and think: I hear carb issues are common and fairly easy to fix. Also, I think they used the 'universal' rebuild kit that claims '88-'11, but the jets and such were different from '00-'03 (gaskets, etc. appear to be the same) so their original attempt was a good idea, just not good enough.
They did give me the original carburetor with the 4-wheeler, but it has the wrong internals. I'm thinking if I can get the right jets, springs, etc for the rebuild, I should be able to get this thing running right. Of course, I still need to charge the battery back up, change all the fluids, replace fuel lines, plug and wire.. ya know, the basics for a machine that's been sitting for roughly 9 months. lol

It was running well one day, and then the next it just wouldn't start (It has been very cold while trying to start it). I checked spark, it was meh, so I replaced it. After that it got blue spark. Still won't start. Cleaned out the carb (It was quite bad), still wouldn't start. Bought a new carb, put it on, still won't start. Gas is getting to the carb and the plug is dry. It's got compression (Not measured, just put hand in front of exhaust), spark, and gas. It'll start for a second it I put gas in the plug hole, but then I'm back to a dry plug. Any ideas on why it won't start?
