I have a 2004 Twin Peaks 700, I think the diff lock is stuck on. Does any one have any suggestions as to how I get it to unlock? It is a cable system, and the cable moves freely.

Thanks

Check at the diff end of the cable. Is the cable still hooked up? Is it moving the lever? Is the return spring broken? There diff lock assembly is basically a clutch, it has a basket several discs similar to that which makes up a manual ATV clutch. This could be stuck somehow. If you can't find the problem on the outside of the diff housing, or the cable isn't broken somewhre in between, you may have to take the outside lock cover off, and inpect the locking mechanism itself. Good luck. Also, a repair manual would help you alot.

Thanks for the info. I will look into it a bit further. I just changed the fluid and it was pretty dirty, and had some ice in it. Hope the fluid flush will help.

Thanks again

If there was ice in it, that means that there was alot of moisture in there, you might want to try adding some stabilizer to the diff oil. The ice could also have been what was causing things to lock up. Good luck, I hope that was all you needed to do.

      Good Morning!
Has anyone had a problem with the small aluminum 90 degree elbow popping out of the valve cover and blowing oil all over the place? It looks like it is simply pressed in and will most certainly repeat the offense. Any experience you all can share with this issue?
      Thanks in advance.

This 2006 ArticCat dvx400 didn't have a reverse cable. I got one and am wondering how it routes? If someone has a dvx400, could post a pic of there reverse cable routing, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi!  The wife and I are planning to head to Indian River this fall for a couple days to ride the ATV trails.  Looking for a good place to stay that is close to the trails so we can ride from the lodging location. Any recommendations or tips on Indian River?  Thanks a million!

The family has two quads and have been asking where to ride around here- we are about 70 miles north of spokane and looking for places that are nice to go visit for beginners.
We have a 2003 Polaris sportsman, and a 2004 Artic Cat 2-up (I forget the size)
