In 1985 my dad bought our first 4-wheeler off the showroom floor in West Virginia. It was an '85 Honda Fourtrax 250. My Uncle drove Suzuki Quadrunners which were (to be honest) great bikes as well! So we were all constantly testing each other to see whos was better.

Lemmie tell you something...that Honda was in no other ways to describe it....BULLETPROOF! It never needed any major repairs, it survived mudholes that todays 4-wheel drives have trouble with and it had a front end that weighed as much as a tank. The only repair we ever made to it was that the muffler had fallen off due to rust. It was kept at my grandfathers place in WV and at one point it went completely untouched for years. Going back up there we expected at the very least...a dead battery. It fired up without breaking a sweat.

No ATV on earth comes close to Honda quality. They truely are built to last and even though I enjoy riding Suzuki's and others as well...there will always be a Honda in my garage. Because when I take it out on the trail, I am guarenteed its gonna get me back home.

i feel the same way. i loved all my hondas i have owned, and would never hesitate getting another one !!

They dont die. We put that bike through hell and back and it ran like a dream all the way up until it was stolen in 2003.

I say quad thieves should get the death penalty or life in prison. Although im a Grizzly rider now i have alot lot of great memories of riding Hondas

Yea luckily I have theft insurance on all of my quads. Its called shotgun.

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

MY MAX 4 6X6 2009, now this will actually go anywhere including across the water. In the 3rd photo I had gone up the river about 30 meters then climbed up the bank, 6X6 owners call it "swimming"

Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage
