Honda forman broken piece found in case????

Honda forman broken piece found in case????

Im tearing down my 02 Honda forman 400 and came across this metal nipple that looks to have broke off of something. Ive searched and searched!! I can't figure out where it came from!! Was having shift issues but don't know if it's related or not.Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will pay $$ whoever can pinpoint where this came from.
