  2. I am working on a 2005 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4. I have all the parts for the oil cooler system rebuild. When I received the vehicle the cooler was not attached so I am not sure which hose was attached to which side of the cooler/radiator. For this reason, I am unsure as to which hose pumps the oil out of the engine block and into the the cooler. Where the hoses atach to the block, the two ports are stacked vertically (upper & lower), but I do not know which hole pumps the oil out and which one receives the cooled oil. I have looked at some service manuals, but they look conflicting to me in that the inflow/outflow points on the cooler diagram page seem to attach opposite of what the diagram on the service manual page showing lubrication points labels the inflow/outflow attachment points on the block. I know the lines in the diagrams are a little hard to follow, but I do beliece I have read the diagram correctly. So my question, can someone tell me if they know for sure on this machine which port on the block sends the oil out to the cooler (upper or lower hole) and which one receives the oil back from the cooler?\ Thanks for your time & any answers

So I got this free Bruin that hasn't been started in five years and needs the oil cooler system (cooler/radiator, fan, hoses- the hoses are parts numbered 2 & 3, the cooler is labeled #4, and the fan is #5 on the attached FSM diagram) replaced. I like to mod and I like to go with quality new parts when I can. I have decided to replace the cooler and fan with a B&M Supercooler cooler/fan system (model# 70298). The hoses themselves are another matter. I don't really know anything about high pressure/high temp hydraulic lines or how they are built, and I am wondering about the fittings that would attach the hoses to the crankcase/engine (these are shown on the middle right side of the diagram). Are those fittings something that only Yamaha would produce for OEM hoses, or will I be able to cobble together some super durable and reliable hoses and then fittings that will bolt the hoses right up to the engine. Since I am so ignorant about what kind of hose to use I would appreciate some recommendations if you have any. What hoses out there would be the most reliable and long lasting with no leaks? Which one is best? Is stainless steel the best? Thanks for any help.

Hello everyone, I don't think I am "quad crazy" yet, but I was recently given a 2005 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4 by a coworker because her landlord had to have it moved and she just didn't want to deal with it any more. It has been sitting for five years and currently does not run. It has become my current project and I hope to get it running and somewhat restored and modded up. I don't have much experience with small engines but I am enjoying learning. There seems to be tons of great information on this forum, especially in regards to service manuals. I look forward to being part of your community Best wishes
