  1. The wireless control is better because it is safer if you have wire cable. With a wireless winch you can stand away from the atv so that the cable doesn't hit you if it snaps. There was a girl around here a few years younger than me who had her arm snapped off mid forearm when a cable snapped when her dad was winching a truck out. Granted it was 2 trucks involved so the tension on a atv would be less but it could still hurt/kill you.
  2. you ABSOLUTELY should oil your filter. putting it in a bag and shaking is wrong. I like soak style better than the spray style oil because it's easier to get theboil down into the filter. I have ridden and raced and worked on motorcycles, 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers and SxS for 55 years. most paper filters for your 4 wheelers are designed to be oiled. there are different types of filter oil for foam and paper filters. when cleaning your filter do not use gas, it will eat your filter. I recommend using oil filter cleaner. it is a little more expensive but works a lot better. cheaper than a rebuild.
  3. if you have room put a bigger battery in it. never run your winch for more than 15-20 seconds at a time under heavy load, look up duty cycle. run it out and back in once a month or so. it's better electric motors to run than to sit unused.
  4. check where the pipe goes into the muffler. There should be a sleeve. They call it a muffler gasket. https://www.amazon.com/CALTRIC-EXHAUST-MUFFLER-TIMBERWOLF-1992-1998/dp/B01M0C3NXF/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2OP4QFKBQ8AE9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.SlDTBnTn3RkQc2ZlXtC4QTx5mgNDTEq0Ri9T27PTzRJYyUnT6oUWE8IirYH0-m3hsmfps4rAxOq3zrSILCdJ_yfT5NY5NGtRBpRQY8Kv7PksxJ-wbNGrlb-_C-s85pn45ANa6F6y6WLJ8VRFvFsvKiZpxXONtUC7X4pri_h_F2O1RYRRWS9A2ad8Xn1xjUl_AJdoS_-eT6HiACjfvER9qeW9BAX9Whp8fQiN9u2dOGFmj8zSYpvn_rSOCmbw5mcuPsIxiyf0KwtZCxdK2wqaHWLF4AtKzij_myIeyBYWSrg.Q_Mg2wLqyKQu4vzs0uj_iAfzMtePIKdHHjT6zz_EHus&dib_tag=se&keywords=1997+yamaha+timberwolf+exhaust+gasket&qid=1724176294&s=automotive&sprefix=1997+yamaha+timberwolf+exhaust+gasket%2Cautomotive%2C156&sr=1-5
