Got the lights on and wired up to a dual switch. Not super happy with the way it turned out but not a ton of hiding places either. It'll work!
-
Thank you! Been a fun project! Gotta re cover the seat and I think I might paint the brush guard and racks back black. I also have some pod lights i need to install too. Those will be tricky. I want them to be functional but don't wanna see em. Tires do look great. I hope they perform as well as they look ๐๐

Thank you! We tried to match as close as we could to factory with a lil added extra ๐ I cant wait to see it in the sun

Alright fingers crossed no dumb sh** happens tonight! Got everything slicked up with 3 coats! Hopefully I can assemble this weekend! Exciting!

Looks like I'm gonna need a round 3... I can't win with this thing! Got the 1st coat done getting ready to do 2nd, the power company shuts the power off in our area for maintenance! Power was off for 3 hours. ๐คฆ๐คฆ Now, gotta wet sand and try again. If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any.

Awesome! I find myself buying brake clean by the case. Always finding a carb that needs cleaned lol
-
Alright...Exhaust is almost finished up. I ran out of exhaust wrap apparently 16 foot isn't enough lol got most of it done though!
-
In my opinion, fix it up its much more fun that way! Plus, these quads are super easy to work on. Parts are cheap too...well, mostly. I'm building a Big Bear 250, I have a build thread on it. The bruin and big bears are basically the same machine!

No worries! Just a lil more work. Most paint today can handle decent flex. However, to be safe I sprayed adhesion promoter to ensure the paint won't flake with the flex. Same as everything with this ATV, I don't mind learning! I Do like the way the tires look. I picked em up for just under $300 plus $60 to get them put on. I did throw em on to move the ATV around. Lol Haha, that's next on my to-do list...paint my house! Should be a good time ๐๐

Well, we used the wrong type of hardener on the paint, long story short the paint won't ever dry. Gonna have to strip it and go again. Trying to keep costs down so I'm using products I don't normally use and mistakes are being made. Funny thing, now it's costing me more...๐๐ oh well, live and learn. Tires definitely look good! They are like a maxxis bighorn knock off....time will tell if they hold up and perform well.

Big day today! Got the plastics all painted up. I tried to match it up as close as I could. This seems to be correct.....close enough lol I also painted the wheels after I got the new tires put on. Time to watch paint dry!
-
Alright, it's been awhile! I've managed to get all the plastics prepped for paint. Should be spraying those early next week... The new tires did show up today! SUNF Power 2! First glance they look pretty cool, I've got an appointment on Saturday to get them installed. We gonna see lol Also, bought some lights and switches those will be here Sunday, hopefully. STAY TUNED!

Mail call! Fedex came by and delivered the front fenders I needed. Wasn't too thrilled with the packaging, but the plastics look brand new! Very pleased! Now I've gotta take the front, rear and fuel tank plastics and go throw some paint on them!
-
That's correct. I went on partzilla and they share the same part number for the plastics between the bruin and big bear 250cc ONLY.
-
Well, I guess we will never know. The correct front fenders I needed popped up on Ebay, I bought it. Hopefully they make it thru the mail in one piece.....looking at you fedex ๐๐
-
Been awhile! Everything on the ATV is now in working order. I have finished up the wiring, everything works great. Now I've gotta make it pretty. I've been struggling to find front fender assembly, does anyone know if I can use the front plastic fenders from a 2006 bruin 350? They look very identical.

The odd part was the guy I got it from couldn't figure it out... Apparently it's had this issue for a long time now. I ran it up and down my drive way, made it to 3rd gear with no issues. ๐๐
-
Well boys, we did it! It's fixed! I put the rear wheels in the air and poked around a lil. I found the Forward and Reverse lever wasn't correctly adjusted causing it to drag under a load. Once I reseated and adjusted that, the old girl rides like a dream.....aside from that busted wheel bearing ๐๐ The build continues!
-
Thanks for the tip, keep em coming! This will be the 1st time I've worked on an ATV, I'm eager to learn. I do come from an automotive background so I don't mind turning some wrenches!

2 wheel drive Okay. I'll take a look at that next!
