  1. The motorcycle accessories (industry) have moved to hard plastics/fiberglass storage. My saddle bags are soft and waterproof. My buddy's new street bike has hard storage all over the machine. He's had experience with soft and hard and much prefers hard. Hope this helps
  2. Cool pics
  3. Yeah here in Wyoming it's been cool for almost a week. It hits upper 90's for a few days every summer. During the day I don't mind the heat (20yrs in FL) but hard to sleep on those hot nights. Lots of residents here don't have air conditioning and I'm one of them. In Florida I didn't have good heat and we had some cold winter nights
  4. Ok gwbarm says tank is plastic and maxbeg says no rust inside, great but I still would drain that .3 gallon of old gas out of there. It's very easy, why keep that old crap in there?
  5. Yes I've seen that. It can be very time consuming to clean and coat the inside of a fuel tank. Like you said the debris will continue clogging the carb
  6. I wouldn't run it with that old gas. Like gwbarm said I'm surprised it started. Drain that gas and kill weeds with it. The idle jet is real tiny and clogs easily. If you're familiar with the carb I would take it apart and clean the jets (orifices)
  7. Beautiful bicycle 😉
  8. I sense a little "wet dream envy" 😜
  9. Most motorcycle starters draw over twenty amps for the first few seconds. It's the armature that pulls all the amps. The relay coil (starter solenoid) is only 5 amps or less .. maxbeg did very well
  10. Is it homemade?
  11. Good work, I've been following this thread, gwbarm and jen provided enough support for me to be quiet. That fuse is isolated from the starter's armature. The armature pulls more than a 20amp fuse can handle. The starter relay coil DOES pull power through that fuse.
  12. May I say good morning now? It's 3pm here in the cowboy state but it's morning somewhere. How about "it's 5 O'clock somewhere" that can also apply 🥳
  13. Very smart. All internal combustion engines should be started gently and allowed to idle for at least five minutes. We're all in so much of a hurry and have no patience. Turbine powered aircraft have timers incorporated into the start procedure
  14. My diesel tractor has the same ball-hitch setup. Very convenient. My two balls are 2" & 2,5/16" the larger ball is for moving the camper around on the ranch. Much easier than using the pickup truck
  15. All my 4-cycle engines (without a catalytic converter) get a little 2-cycle oil mixed with the gas. The pistons and valves love it, never fouls plugs. "Upper cylinder lube" is what the additive bottles call their snake oils. My mix ratio is 1 ounce for 2 gallons gas.
  16. Mine's a she 😆
  17. I think some people remove the spark arrestor. Not certain but if you buy a used one it might be gone.
  18. 15 Hondas or 8 track tapes.. lol
  19. I lived in Daytona for two years. I got a ticket riding in the dunes south of town. Nobody was around so I thought it was ok. This was in the 70's
  20. Easy to fabricate a DIY spark arrestor. When two-wheeling I wear a backpack for water or beer, and snacks. I'm new to 4-wheelers so I will watch this thread
  21. Winter oil should be thinner viscosity I think wix and napa are the same filter. Both excellent
  22. Choppers take a little practice in tight turns. Very nice looking highway machines
  23. Those are big touring bikes sunn. I had a 4-cylinder shaft driven yammy-hammy. It was really really quiet and being a 4-cylinder it was totally vibration free. Eventually I decided it was too heavy. That's when I bought the suzy-Q 650 Street bike. Half the weight and could cruise the highway all day with the throttle just cracked open My dad had a little Honda scooter. 1966 I think. Displacement was around 60-75cc but not sure. Definitely for pavement. I think he bought it from a neighbor for $50
  24. My first bike was a Kawhockey (yes I spelled it wrong) 125cc trail enduro. It was street legal and pretty good in the dirt with the proper tires. Problem with tire choice, any compromise on tread and you lose performance on dirt or pavement. Same with ATVehicles
