  1. No. I'm actually only 65 miles south of Chicago... Why's that? Know a good place to ride down there?

im from st louis. i have been to Southfork in Il twice. have u been there? i liked it but we have closer places

this weekend we r camping at Moonlight Racing in Sullivan, mo. No rules, anything with wheels is allowed. unfortunately i wont be riding, but the family will get a chance to

  2. I’ve been meaning to post here, but haven't seen any other ladies post in a while, and every time I would start, I would get lured away by the family. (with a broken butt bone, I have some extra time on my hands)

Anyway, my name is Nina from St Louis, MO. I have a wonderful husband who rides a KTM 300 dirtbike, and a beautiful daughter learning to ride a Raptor 50. She will be 4 in June.

For those of you who don't know, I recently upgraded from the Suzuki 250 Ozark to a Honda TRX400x. Been a big change from one bike to the other, but I’m likin the power of the new bike.

I am the Office Manager/IT support of a subcontracting company of about 75 employees. As far as jobs go, I love it, even when I get interrupted every few minutes by 1 of 75 needing help.

Hold that thought, getting lured away...

Why do I ride?...cause it is fun, brings me and my husband closer together, and it cures bad moods! (You cannot be unhappy and be on a bike at the same time – not possible imo)

When I was about 10, I had a blast riding my grandpa’s Honda 250. Out of all the grandkids, I was the most daring of riders wanting to get faster and faster through the trails. My mom let me ride it with no helmet, wearing shorts and flip flops – crazy! Now she is a worried old grandma who hates to hear when I wreck, and hates that my daughter has a bike. Grandpa’s bike was stolen so I didn’t ride again until I got tired of my man leaving every weekend w/o me to go riding. So glad I decided to join him!

I originally joined this site to meet more women who ride since most of the women I have rode with admit it’s not their thing after they get that ring on their finger. Tired of being the only girl! Good news is that a high school friend of ours is dating a girl who recently decided she wants her and her 3 kids to learn to ride as a new hobby. They all got quads and she asks that I show her the ropes. I prefer to follow the leader. Being the leader is kinda tough for me. Makin it work (when I’m not injured) Hope to be back on my bike soon!

  3. well, i like my new Orthopedic Dr. He did not have many good things to say about the first guy i saw...

Evidently, you can't have a hair line fracture on the sacrum. it is very thin bone and a complete break. 2 months is standard healing time.

He was also appalled that they did not x-ray my knee, so he did to be sure. good news is that i only have a 2nd degree tear of the ligament and it will heal fine w/o surgery!

Back to work on Monday!

glad he gave me something for the pain that will not effect my driving or make me sleepy at work

  4. Hey Nina!!!! Are you felling any better yet? I hope so at least a little.

today is my follow up dr appt. still in pain, but i have been lucky to take time off and rest. ready to get out of my bed! the days have been flying by until now...come on 1:30 dr appt!

(must get back to work before the figure out how to manage w/o me)

  5. accidents happen, don't be so hard on yourself. I have a lot of unexpected deceleration moments, unexpected gravitational pull variances, and some other unexpected planetary involvment incidents :aargh:. The only thing I really learned was how to fall better, because I know it is gonna happen again. Wear safety gear, stay alert and be ready for the unexpected. Ride to have fun and you will have fun riding.

    i like that...must share :)

  6. Jeeze Nina, sure hope your tail is better soon!! Agreed you just gotta get back on and ride some more when you feel better,,it's all a learning game,,my butt was sore from the horse bucking me off for about a month!! Hope yours does not last that long!

someone else told me it took 2 years to sit pain free! i like the sound of a month better!

  7. i agree people don t understand that sometimes things happen. you just have to learn what to do or what not to do next time. i ve had lots of close calls too. you just learn from your mistakes and move on. keep riding , one little wreck doesn t mean you have to quit riding. you have just as big of a chance getting hurt driving down the road in a car as you do a quad. i hope you can have a speedy recovery so you can get out and ride with your little girl again.

it is nice to get feedback from people who understand. it was a really stupid accident and regret that it happened. i feel like my skills are better than that, or i just should have avoided that area all together.

    live and learn, right?

  8. At least you guys go out and do what you enjoy. Yes its safe to watch tv on a couch but what does that do for your brain? Atvs are like pitbulls, the general public thinks atv riders are an insane bunch. Ive been riding for 27 years and can say i had alot of close calls. People around me frown on atvs but i dont care. id rather live a short life getting thrown off a quad than a longer life of work, eat, sleep and repeat. My father did the latter and is now a retired angry miserable man with no hobbies. Get back on that steel horse and ride!!!

i cant wait to do just that! It might be a while before it is comfortable.
