on a 2000 quad master is the stator location on the left side under the pull rope or on the belt side. if you are setting on the atv the pull rope is on your left side. thanks getting ready to change the stator

Is it hard to replace a stator on a 2000 quadmaster 500. tryed everything else,, ordered stator will be here soon. thanks Raybob in Kentucky

OK, after tearing the carb apart again, I noticed the diaphragm wasn't on properly. I checked it for tears and refit it. Cleaned everything again and put it back together. It will still idle, although a little rougher now. But now I can't give it any throttle. The moment I touch the throttle, and I mean just touch it, she dies dead. Buddy of mine figures the pilot jet still might be glazed, and that I should just replace it.

Raybob, I will let you know if this works, maybe that's what's getting you too.

will idle with switch on now but still will not take the gas quits when I give it gas, cleaned the carb, new ing switch,new coils fresh gas and new hoses is there anyway to check the cdi box. Thanks Raybob in ky

That's easy to check, pull the air box and boot off so you can see down the throat of the carb, then cycle the throttle to full. If the barrell tops out in the throat it's not linkage or cable adjustment.

hey fuzzman I also have a 500 quad master I hope you find what wrong with yours, mine will idle but dies when you give it gas. I have changed the coil, plug, fresh gas clean the carb and replaced the hoses. someone said it may be the cdi box I am just about to quit. good luck with your quad master. changed the plug and coil still doing it. I dont understand why it will idle with the key in light position and dies when in the on position its got me thanks Raybob

I have a 2000 quad master 500. sometimes it runs great,,,but sometimes will idle but will not take the gas it has to run with the key on with the lights if I turn it to on it dies. I put a new coil on yesterday it ran great for awhile then started it all over again. any help would be great. is there any way to check the stator. Thanks again Raybob in ky
