With Harlan County and the Ridge Runners ATV Club leading the way with the world famous 7,000 acre Black Mountain Park and an additional 54,000+ acres of off-park riding of all kinds, you can get a feeling of small town Appalachia in the City of Evarts...only city in KY where you can ride your toy legally through town as long as you wear your helmet and obey laws. Price: FREE
For info go to the Ridge Runner website: harlancountyridgerunners - HARLAN CO.RIDGE RUNNERS * * Pic below: Looking at Middlesboro, KY and the Cumberland Gap at sunset
Here in Bell County we are following suite with the Holler Crawlers Off-Road Club. We are in progress of developing the 9,000 acre Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park with some of the most fantastic views you will ever see of both the Cumberland and Pine Mountain ranges...plus the soon to be world famous MUD BOWL. Even though the park is still under development, it is still open to ride, but you will need a guide until we get maps/trailheads completed. Plus we in Bell County are working on an additional 50,000+ acres of off-park riding. Price: FREE
For info check out the Holler Crawlers website: hollercrawlers - Pic below: An elk-viewing ride in Leslie County
Also we have Leslie County, our neighbors to the north. Their resident club, the Daniel Boone Trailblazers, offer free guided tours through the Daniel Boone Natl Forest and Redbird Crest Trails. They are the first ATV club to partner witht he US Forest Service. It is not uncommon to see a herd of elk on their rides. Price: FREE
For more info check out the Trailblazers website: DBTrailblazers -
The best part: all 3 counties are working right now to get all of their trails interconnected, making for one HUGE riding area. Keep checking in for more info! |
