Hello- tried to install a new rear brake shoe today and when trying to install the drum back it will no longer fit.

The adjuster is all the way in and we used a course wire attachment to get rid of anything on the drum itself.

As a last ditch effort we even tried filing some of the brake itself and that didn't even help.

Not sure if this is relevant but it took 45 min or so to get the drum off intially, it didn't  want to release.

Any advice will help!

I've been hunting for a rebuild kit or aftermarket replacement without success. Any tips? The OEM replacement is too rich for my blood.
