I'm going to sandblast it first then put on a adhesion promoter and primer. Then base coat and clear. Today I actually found an alternative method that seems much easier and cheaper so I'm thinking about giving it a try. It's called hydro dipping or water transfer printing. I'll still have to do all the prep but it will save the cost of the base coat which is pretty high. They sell thin sheets of material that you place in water then submerge the part you. When you pull it out the sheet adheres to the piece and you rinse it down, wait for it to dry and spray on a speciality clear coat (which only runs around 15$). They sell the hydro graphic film by the yard and it comes in every possible design. The prices run from 10 to 20$ a meter. It's pretty neat looking and seems like it will be easy to do.

Water dipped patterns give you a more radical look for your ride with multitude  of designs to chose from and,if  as you say it's cheaper albeit faster than painting the whole thing (three times , one for each layer) I'd go with the former. The only  hard thing is placing the patterns  the right  way because they are very delicate and prone to slip, tear or blur if you're not careful enough when getting the piece out of the bath. I'd recommend you to take a look on youtube videos on how to accomplish the task, there are plentiful of them so you don't loose your time and money .Best of lucks !!

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

So, i go to change the oil in my 2k Y 400 BB and, without reading what types of oil to use, i just put in 10w-40 motor oil.....then i decided to read exactly what type of oil i should be using. Apparently, the ATV oil is designed to also work with the clutch..lol...which is probably  why i was having a few issues going into the gears, or, maybe losing 1st gear going down a hill. Ok, now that i got educated i bought like 6 quarts of the "special" oil required.
Now, my second issue is it was hard to start for some reason. Usually it fires right up. So, once started i brought it up to the garage and removed the seat, thinking maybe the battery was weak from sitting. Nope...12.5 volts, but.....a mouse decided to build his nest right on top of the battery. I cleaned that all out, but, when i went to start it, the solenoid clicks and the starter just spins. UGH. One thing after another. No wires were chewed thankfully. Just kind weird the starter would do that all of a sudden when i messed with the oil.
Do i need to pull the starter now and check the bendix thing? It spens real nice, it just won't engage. The wrong oil wouldn't do that...would it?

Hi!  The wife and I are planning to head to Indian River this fall for a couple days to ride the ATV trails.  Looking for a good place to stay that is close to the trails so we can ride from the lodging location. Any recommendations or tips on Indian River?  Thanks a million!

The family has two quads and have been asking where to ride around here- we are about 70 miles north of spokane and looking for places that are nice to go visit for beginners.
We have a 2003 Polaris sportsman, and a 2004 Artic Cat 2-up (I forget the size)
