95 King Quad 300 oil strainer???

I've always been good about changing my oil and filter but after reading some posts on the internet and doing some searching on partszilla I'm seeing there is a "strainer" located under a plate on the bottom side of the engine.  Is this suppose to be cleaned and or replaced at every oil change?  If it happens to stop up will it hurt the engine bearings?

You don't need to clean that strainer..  If it did block up it would cause damage, but it's a coarse mesh and is really only to stop big bits of chipped gear and stuff like that..  If it gets blocked, it's probablytime for an overhaul anyway..
