My 2001 wolverine has been sitting all fall. Tried to start it and ran for a bit and quit. I opened the air box, and found a mouse nest. Then found the air filter was damaged, so Im thinking some of the nest got sucked in. I removed the carb and cleaned it, also found the diaphram had a hole in it. Replaced that and cleaned the carb. Reinstalled and it will not idle. Runs with choke on full, but not long. I try to turn off choke and it dies. If I get on the throttle right away I can keep it reved up, but very rough. Is there something I missed cleaning the carb? Had it appart twice now. Tried fiddling with the brake switch got a little better but not much. Should I try removing the brake switch? Getting very frustrated. Havent been able to use it since September. Thanks for any help!

Yes, fresh gas is definately a must, I assume you got rid of the old stuff right? The first thing that comes to mind is that you may have the pilot screw turned all the way in. Try turning it about 1 3/4 turns out. Start the machine, then slowly turn the screw back in until you hear the motor start to stumble, then turn the screw back out until you get the idle to its highest point, set the screw there. Adjust the idle if needed from there. It is also possible that you missed something when cleaning the carb too. You must completely disassemble the carb and clean EVERYTHING, all holes and passages. Poke something through the jets to make sure they are clear, there are some very small holes in there and you must make sure they are all clear. Also, there is a vent tube that leads to a hose at the bottom of the float bowl, make sure that is clear too. Good luck.

I am unable to find a wiring diagram for this UTV.  When I turn the switch to on, the contractor does not engage.  The Brake pressure switch and the parking brake switches work correctly. What else should I be looking for?  All of the diagrams I have found are for newer models and the wire color coding is different.

      Thanks

Just getting into this issue really. Been replacing solenoids but now I'd like to track down the problem. This time I'm not getting neutral/reverse lights or start button. Was on a creek ride when it started doing this recently. It cranks by arcing the solenoid and gives me no light or start button but if I crank with the pull cord....the neutral light and the button work. Turn it off and try to crank with the key and nothing. I'm looking into the safety switch issue tomorrow and re charging the battery. Just figured this was odd enough of a problem that you guys might be familiar. Thanks

Hi everyone, first and foremost, I want to thank everyone for all the help I've received. I am so glad I found this community. I also wanna apologize if I'm spamming the forum, I come up with questions as I go, I guess lol. So when I got my Recon, the air box was missing the lid, held together by zip ties, and the filter was ripped and nasty. I have since ordered a new air box assembly. It comes with everything: the box,  lid, and filter ( the insert and the foam), and all the hardware necessary. This is the first time I've seen a metal filter inside a foam filter lol. However, my question is, I have read that you have to oil these filters? Every time I read it, it was always skimmed over, and I could not remember where I had read it. Is there a certain oil needed for this? Is the filter washable and reusable? Do I just stick the filter in oil, lol? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question. Thanks in advance, y'all!
