198? Yamaha ATC 225 - Trouble Moving In Gear

just bought a yamaha 225dx it sat for awhile bc the middle drive bearing was out. got tht relaced it will move but when u push throttle in it barely moves then 3-5 seconds later the power will kick in...why could this being doing this??

does it rev and idle well? is the carb all good? is this one shaft drive?

yes idles very well, carb is excellent, i wood say it runs better then new, it will drive, u push throttle and it will just creepa few seconds and all of a sudden all the power will come and take off, yes one shaft

is it the same when you start off in a different gear? in 2nd or 3rd?

yes but not as bad as 1st

have you tried adjusting the clutch, i'm not sure which side of the bike, there is a nut with a big slot you can adjust there.

no i havent, i saw adjusting a clutch thread and was wonderiing if i should try tht,

i'm not sure which way you turn it, i'm thinking counter clock wise, then when it's tight, clockwise a quarter turn...

i would say the problem is in the clutch. worn out or wearing out ...
