2000 Honda 300ex - No Spark

I have a 2000 honda 300ex I just purchased it about a month ago it was toast it had dropped a valve so I rebiult the whole topend it cost alot for just the parts I got it running and ran some heat cycles on it know its running great but got to throw in the but after it gets hot it stops getting fire to the spark plug it will run with no issues for as long as you ride it but when you cut it off and let it set for a few minutes it will spark one time then stop all together after it cools down for a good while it will crank and run again but after I cut it off it wont crank again and I can put a plug on the wire hold it against the block and no fire!!!!:aargh:If anybody knows what it is let me know thanks ??? thanks for welcomin me to quad crazy guys!!!!

i would guess stator or cdi. if the bike is hot when it wont go, could be the coil too.

the coil will break down when it gets hot ....

thanks for the reply I am going to try and omhn the cdi,stator coil and rectifier with meter and maybe I can find the problem saw that on youtube so Im gonna try it !!!

the coil may test good, even if its bad. it would be the cheapest component to change. hopefully everything checks out good with the cdi and stator ...
