I just bought this quad and I replaced the speedometer. The quad runs fine. but the efi starts blinking telling me there is a code but when I jump the wires the codes don't show up. am I jumping the wrong wires? I checked the diagnostic wire between the computer and the speedometer and it checked out fine. I also checked the 4 wires that are on the diagnostic connector they were also fine. has anybody had this problem.

ok thanks for no help lol. I figured it out. there was a bad connection to the diag wire on the plug for the speedo if I wiggled the plug I would notice the 4wd light go on and off. so I pushed it in real hard and the 4wd light stood on. then I jumped the diag wired and I was able to read codes.

I picked up this ATV that had no spark. The previous owner said he was driving it and it died and would not start. He discovered it had no spark. He replaced the CDI and the coil with no luck. He got tired of it and I bought it. I replaced the stater and now it has strong spark. Now, it starts for a second or two then dies. It will not stay running. I have checked the timing and it is spot on. The valves are adjusted correctly. I see no warn issues with the cam. I put the original CDI and coil back on it. Same problem exists. Compression is at 65 psi (has decompression mechanism),
I took off the muffler in case the issue was clogged pipes. No change. I replaced the spark plug. No change. The carb was an aftermarket so I put a Niche carb on with no change. I bypassed the fuel pump and that did nothing to solve the problem.
I don't know if this is a carb issue or an ignition issue. I am looking around locally for an OEM carb to try out but not sure that will fix the problem.
Can anyone help me solve this problem. I am running out of ideas.
      Thank you for your time
      Bill

First ATV but owned 2 wheel versions all my (long) life. 1990 KLF300C for $500.. doesn't run yet but I'm an old automotive mechanic so not worried. Only a little concerned about the price of parts, certain this antique will need many

      Hello everyone.
I'm working on a 2014 Yamaha 700 Grizzly and having no luck accessing the diagnostic mode on the display. I have tried with the fuel pump connector plugged and unplugged, and select and reset buttons depressed simultaneously for up to 30 seconds with no luck.
I could sure use some assistance if anyone has any tips on this

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
