  1. I don't know what to make of this. I have an Arctic Cat 2005 automatic 500 with PVC home-made snorkels that came with the ATV from the previous owner. I finally decided to remove them as I needed the room for the front cargo rack. The flexible rubber tubes where the extensions fit into are the same diameter as the extensions, and end just under the front "hood" cover. Not too different, other then length of the air intakes. Yet, the machine acts like it's not getting enough air. In other words, it lugs down under acceleration or going up hills. Throttle response is drastically reduced, unless you're moving on a level terrain, but, still noticebly less power. With the snorkels removed, the machine is totally responsive, lots of power, and no lugging up hills, actually can accelerate. What's the deal here? Does the carb need to be adjusted? With the snorkels off, am I getting too much air or not enough? I would think not enough air. Can anyone help with this? Larry
