I talked to them earlier this eve on the cell phone and they were crossing Utah. They hope to drive till they reach the Boise Idaho area and snooze. Then one day more to Bend Oregon, where raptor8 lives. we're gonna go riding at East Fort Rock with all kinds of cameras, and have the BBQ from hell which is our custom. You guys are gonna love the videos!!!!! I have two 3 wheelers we can take with us for photos, or if Kristin wants to ride, she can ride my 660r. I think this is gonna be a ball. They have a suite reserved with a hot tub in it yeehaw! hahaha

It's their HONEYMOON and they chose to come HERE, so I'm gonna make it memorable to be sure!!!!

EastFortRock beckons [still the largest riding area in the lower 48] and 'bot is anxious to tiretrack some trails! Weather looks good, we're gonna have a great time! I'm really lookin forward to this. Expect at leat 4 cameras on site plus I have a helmetcam - this is gonna be fun!!!

well that is certainly good news! I don't know about that fitting problem, I thot all those front ends were sealed. Perhaps a picture from a parts catalog? that would help greatly.

Most larger dealerships have catalog access, like chaparral, pro-caliber, etc. I use pro-caliber since I used to work there [before it was pro-caliber.]

you dont need a rev box on a 660 [is it a 660? no garage] you need a pipe and some jets. that's a torque engine, not a screamer.

clutch should not fail all at once without some weird noises or smells. Check the oil, I mean SMELL the oil. It will tell you.

Raptor trannies were only "bad" in 01, I have one I bought brand new, so does one son, no problems, and he services his after I badger him for 6 months to bring it here so I can do it! hahaha

Only 01 has different first and second gear ratios too, and no limiter on reverse [that can be scary].

OOOWWW! that's why I will NOT ride street again! I got smacked by a UPS truck years ago and that was the last time I went on pavement with 2 wheels. In this state 4 wheels are illegal so we won't talk about that except to say I need to calibrate my GPS on occasion hahaha. The cops out here don't care anyway, they know they can't catch you.

I was about 18 before a dummy on a bike broke several bones for me, on me. Not very happy. He actually came out the worst, and deserved it!

He was riding on the inside of a blind LH turn [my side] downhill, drunk, wearing gym shorts and flipflops, let's see, did I leave anything STUPID out? I dont think so haha I'm coming up the turn at speed, leaned into the inside. All I had time to do was lay it down on the RH footpeg.

cost him a broken ankle and several foot bones, plus lh wrist. cost me all the top knuckles on my left hand and sprained my left ankle. Actually broke the sole of my boot in half, length wise- I've never seen it before or since...

heads of knuckle tend to appear when you least expect them!

as for the fitting, hopefully it is just a screw in zerk, put it could be a push-in as well, does it have threads or barbs on it? you might put a piece of tape over the hole until it gets reinstalled just to keep the dust out...

Raptorman224, do you have any other ideas? I'm quite sure it's just a zerk, but don't rem if it is screw-in or push-in. Thanks for the help 224!

usually when they cough and die under load it indicates a lean condition, like a vacuum leak between the carb and the engine. perhaps a little vacuum nipple missing? On those little buggers there is also a restrictor in ther intake [sounds like you found it] and not sure, but many had a restrictor in the exhaust as well, but these should not keep it from running... hmmm. Look at the 'safety swith' on the back of the bike where the lanyard is supposed to be. If there isn't a key in the switch it won't run over idle. I'll bet that is it. The switch has to be plugged into the harness and there must be a key in the switch [the key with the lanyard on it].
