Thanks for the help yimcyco, traced the problem back to the stator/flywheel so i pulled it off to check it out. Turns out the owner had let it run low on oil and the stator windings at the higher level have burnt out so I'm on the trail of a second hand stator now. Hopefully be able to source one soon. Thanks again for the help.

Hi All, i have a yamaha beartracker which is not charging and I'M looking to test the elecrical output fom the stator/rotor to check if all is well in that department. just wondering if anyone can tell me what readings for voltage/current I should be getting if the electrics are healthy? also could some one direct me to a wiring diagram on the net or post one if possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Chrisok1

Hi all, I already put up this post in the Honda forum before I found this one. Maybe the members here can help me. Just looking for a little help with the fuel system on last years TRX420. I'm servicing one at the moment but have never dealt with this type of fuel system before as the market for new quads isn't huge in Ireland. I assume from looking at it that it's a Keihin injection/electronic carburettor system and I was wondering where I could get some information on servicing/maintaining the carb/injector. Also I'm trying to find out if the fuel system has some sort of filter fitted? I was thinking a filter may be located in the cannister in front of the fuel tank?? Really not sure and don't want to dive in just in case. Honda Ireland are not being overly helpful so any help would be greatly appreciated..
