    No, I am saying that this machine does not have a CDI ignition system. It helps diagnose if you know what you have.

    CDIs cannot be tested by any conventional means. If it has 12 volts at the coil it is not a CDI system anyway. May be TCI.

    This is an extremely simple system and common to most Yamaha starting circuits. You have a 12v test light? Start at the battery positive. Power goes from there to the red wire at ign switch, then brown wire to lights. If lights do not work then nothing will. You have to have power at the starting circuit relay red/white and green/yellow must be grounded. Put battery power on the blue/white and see if starter works.

    No lights of any kind? Neutral light has to come on for starter to work, go from there. Could be as simple as a blown fuse if the charging system is powering the bike running but the battery is not powering anything.

    No, definitely not. There is no measurable voltage to coil on a CDI system and you can damage things by trying to test stuff incorrectly. A CDI cannot be tested by most people. By this I mean you need a very exclusive CDI tester, There are probably just a handful in the world. Use the service manual to measure the resistance of parts that feed the CDI, in this case it is only the pickup coil, if they are good, CDI is bad.

    Has ignition switch been replaced? Only a genuine Yamaha switch will work. Any aftermarket will have NO spark. There are 2 pickup coils, 200Ω each and 1 source coil 300Ω.
