  1. Just got back last night from riding all day at a really nice place with tons of trails. My dad liked his DVX and my bike did great, but towards the end of the day, he layed down to rest on the trailer and I took his quad for a spin. I liked it much more than my bike (on trails) and found that I am much more aggressive on it since I dont have to slow down for rocks or mud like I do on my bike. I thought I might like a quad for trail riding and then just buy and sell dirt bikes for fun so I can still ride 'em. If I got one, I would want IRS because the straight axle on my dad's was really rough on the rocks. I had in mind a outlaw 500 or 525 with IRS. Is it much harder to slide around turns with IRS than a straight axle? Will it feel like it will tip a little easier? Thanks

  2. My dad likes the 350 for its low center of gravity and its width. width is really important because we need to get it and my bike on our 5x8 trailer. If we don't like it, then we'll sell it this spring and get a 400. Here's the link. 2007 Yamaha 350 Raptor ATV Quad Extras Low Hours CLEAN :eBay Motors (item 130318380561 end time Jul-19-09 18:35:15 PDT) the seller has lots of experience with atv's and just got a brand new kfx450, that's why hes selling this one. He'll sell it to us for $2400 including barely used extra tires and all the other parts for the quad. Since this is our first quad, we really don't need to have it screamin fast. This will be our little "starter quad" i guess.

  3. yeah, I'm definately sticking with my crf250r, its a little harder than a quad on rocky terrain, but I get used to it. My dad is 48 and is starting to feel the effects of not being in very good shape and then going riding on a bunch of rocky trails for 6 hours, he's REALLY sore for the next couple days. What atv would be about the same speed as either his or my crf250s? He also says reverse is a MUST.

  4. my dad is tossing around the idea of selling his crf250x and getting a atv at the end of this year. He's looking at a Yamaha Wolverine 350 or 450 4x4 or a 350 raptor. He prefers 4x4 but if he finds a good deal on a 2 wheel drive, he wont ignore it. He's 6' 2" and 220 lbs. We'll just be riding trails, nothing serious. He doesn't want a utility four wheeler. Any suggestions?
