I did a top end on a 99 polaris 250 that started right up. After 2 minutes it died and now I have no spark. I pull the black wire from the cdi and I get spark back. I bought a new kill switch and that didn’t help. I’m stuck, any ideas???

I have a 99 Polaris trailblazer 250. I just did a top end and am looking to wrap this up. It runs without a battery, now that I put one in i have lost spark. I pull the black wire to the kill switch and I have spark. I pit it back in and I have no spark. I just replaced the kill switch, and that did not help. any ideas?????
